[FairfieldLife] Re: Are We Suffering the Conseqences of Too Much Democracy?

2016-07-06 Thread jr_...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
S3,

It appears to me that the Brexit was just a referendum to get out of the EU.
It did not address the problems and how to solve those problems. Perhaps the
problems were insurmountable and not worth the time to discuss with the other
members of the union.

---In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, wrote :

Completely agree. We should either have joined at the outset and used our then
still-existing prestige to push the union in an "Anglo-Saxon" liberal
direction, or we should have left the other nations to forge a genuine United
States of Europe and see if it worked as planned. If it did we could have
tagged along as late-comers to the feast.

Re Mike Dixon's scepticism about mass democracy: I completely agree with that
assessment also.
The advantage of democracy is a negative one: we can vote out the politicians
we dislike and that power has some effect in preventing them becoming corrupt.
We aren't so bright when it comes to the positive aspect: choosing good
replacements!

We need a radical re-think. That's beyond my abilities to do.

On the other hand, the US Declaration of Independence as auspicious signed by
representatives of the then colonial states. As such, the USA chart shows its
success in productivity and for dealing with other countries. In fact, the USA
chart is very ideal for forming a nation through a federation of states. As
I've mentioned here a few years ago, the chart is ideal for forming a global
nation since the support of nature would be on its side.

On the other hand, the US may eventually be forced to take in new states in
its federation due to its mounting national debt. Hello, UK, France and
Germany. If you ever visit any American cities, you will notice that they're
already very international and cosmopolitan in its life style and demographics.

[FairfieldLife] Re: Divorced Catholics Must Avoid Sex

2016-07-06 Thread jr_...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
Judy,

That's not the way the Catholic Church works. The church teaches the
indissolubility of marriage. Once marriage is entered validly and blessed by
the church, the marriage cannot be broken. Therefore, divorce and remarriage
are not recognized.

The only way a marriage can be dissolved is by proving that there never was a
valid contract in the first place. That's where the canon law enters the
picture. Either of the party has to prove to the church adjudicator that he or
she was coerced into the marriage, or that the other party lied or did not
disclose the truth before the marriage, such as none of the parties was married
before to another person in a valid catholic marriage.

But Pope Francis appears to be dancing around this subject in trying to make
the church appear more accepting of those who are divorced. The conservatives
in the church will fight tooth and nails with the Pope on this issue even to
the point of a schism. But IMO, the Pope is testing out the waters of public
opinion to see how the church members feel about the marriage rules in the
current living conditions in the world.

Actually, I've been saying for at least a month or longer that she would *not*
be indicted. Not because she didn't do anything wrong but because she would be
covered and protected by the Obama administration. It just wasn't going to
happen. The *fix* was in. Obama has been saying in interviews since April, that
she never risked national security, yada, yada, yada. Comments like that can be
*seen* as tampering with an investigation. Just like Clinton meeting with the
AG, in secret, on an airplane.Quite frankly, I think Comey may have done
something more dangerous for the Democrats. While not recommending indictment,
it looked very political, at the same time he ripped her apart and in so many
words called her irresponsible and a liar, with the backing of the FBI. One of
Hillary's weaknesses in the polls was her lack of trustworthiness. Comey just
verified that with his speech and parts of it will be played over and over
again during the rest of the campaign. Her lying has been proven by the FBI and
she projects the image of being above the law since she wasn't indicted.Had she
been indicted and forced to resign from her campaign, Democrats could have
drafted Joe or gone with Bernie. Joe would have had an easier time bringing in
pissed Bernie fans.
Trump has been , almost certainly, handed victory.. if he can keep from *f*ing
it up.

 Cultivating Spirituality in Collective Meditation..

Long before the TM movement ever came to Iowa there came a preceding movement
of transcendentalism.

This was a recognized and practiced group by its own long line in history,
practiced in the cultivation of transcendent spirituality through group
meditation.

During the time of the Iowa 1830's and 1840's pioneer settlement there came
old Quakers as a peculiar spiritual people who were then disciplined in
cultivating spiritual experience by the practice of silent meditation in
facilitated groups or collective meditation as the Quaker “Meeting for
Worship”.

Some thousands of Quakers came to Iowa in the early settlement period. Across
the Iowa landscape 'group meditation' arrived in the Quaker settlement of
frontier Iowa then with the laying out and building of their Quaker Meeting
Houses to facilitate their silent group meditation that was the common Quaker
silent practice of a cultivated Quietism.

As a larger spiritual regeneration movement coming to Iowa in that settlement
period this was in a time just prior to when an older Society of Friends as a
spiritual practice group was overtaken and overthrown by evangelical 'believer'
ideology that came along in America during the 19th Century. That takedown in
form is its own recurring story as 'the loss of spiritual Knowledge' in time.
In sequence of time the spiritual Quakers subsequently tended to move further
on to the West on to other places supporting their group cultivation of
transcendent spirituality. ..Birds of a feather flock together in diaspora.

However, there is a map of where the Quaker group meditations were planted in
Iowa during the frontier period of time. This map does not represent the whole
of Quaker Meeting Houses as the group who had overtaken the Society of Friends
Iowa Yearly Meeting later in the 19th Century was not recognizing on their
drawn map of the 1870's some of the older meetings in the State who had
continued on separately with the original silent meditating practice of the old
Quaker spiritual practice as heritage going way back.

The map is noteworthy because it indicates the extent of what was the old
Society of Friends at an earlier time. Evidently what we see presently in
present day Iowa as the group practice of Quietism as a cultivating
transcendental meditation is not just a recent phenomena of spiritual practice
in Iowa.

Mostly new FFL members seem to lurk the forum and evidently do not brave into

This last week someone joined who was wanting to learn Transcendental

A few days ago someone forwarded a piece to the FFL owner e-mail address about
someone leaving TM.

A forum elder posts on FFL, “I've never known anyone to have to explain why
they are here or why they post. Nor do I question their motives or why they
choose to post anonymously.”

It's pretty standard when someone new joins the forum that they introduce
themselves and explain why they're here.

So, Anon_Alias, tell us something about your involvement with TM, and/or MUM,
and/or Fairfield. What aspect of spirituality was it that drew you to this
forum?

Some are more evasive about why they want in

like Hondo Anon_Alias recently offering, “Discussion and questions”.

There's nothing new in this Daily News article that Snopes hasn't dealt with.

I note that you have *no* response to what Snopes says about the case or the

Just for kicks, how do you think Hillary should have handled the rapist's

do?

[FairfieldLife] Disabling the Post-Modern Human Being..

2016-07-06 Thread dhamiltony...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
 Post-Modern Gadget/Product technologies..

This past week in Chicago Ammachi in satsang there spoke to what she is seeing
in people as she tours as a psycho-spiritual phenomena of disintegrating the
human being spiritual subtle system by technology gadget. She spoke to this in
her homilies before and after the group meditations there. That there is a
world-wide problem in mental and environmental agitation now from electronic
gadgets having becoming ubiquitous creating its own disabling dis-ease with a
mental agitation within people world-wide.

 paraphrasing Ammachi's spiritual talks:

..That in cultural remedy to the spiritual disintegrating agitated values of
this techno-gadget materialism people do need to be out in nature, plant
gardens and trees, be with animals, walk out in nature, do their spiritual
practices that stabilize their systems, and get away from their gadgets. And,
to help integrate themselves find points to help others. That this mental
agitation of the subtle system is now a world-wide problem that must be tackled
directly for everyone’s and the world's well-being.

 Post-Modern Gadget/Product technologies..

Yep. And product/gadget technologies that are destabilizing to the human
system, without cultivated or deeper spiritual discernments of what the gadgets
do to us..

A lot of this cultural consumerism, materialism, itself seems to suffer from
dis-integrated perspective by a general lacking in what evidently is in
perspective of deeper spiritual experience.

Yep, spiritual suffering in poor modeling, ignorance in poor spiritual
education and guidance, and a consequent cultural lack of spiritual discipline.

Ah say, ah say .. there's just too much consumin' goin' on.

It seemed to be a conspiracy to put as many people as possible into debt for
wage slavery.

I think one of the problems is that we've become a consumer nation. Everybody
has to have the latest gadget/technology now, whether they can afford it or
not!

I had to do another gig that fell through and that put me into financial

Living in the SF Bay Area I could understand rising housing prices. In 2000
my apartment rent for a 1 bedroom den cost about as much as a house payment so
bought a house instead. Housing prices continued to go on the rise because
many communities in the Bay Area blocked new housing. But there was actually
no reason for housing prices to rise across much of the US including in the
small ho-dunk town I grew up in. It seemed to be a conspiracy to put as many

There's nothing new in this Daily News article that Snopes hasn't dealt with.

I note that you have *no* response to what Snopes says about the case or the
audiotapes. As usual, your claims are devoid of any evidence or even logical
reasoning.

Just for kicks, how do you think Hillary should have handled the rapist's
defense? What should she have done that she didn't do, or not done that she did
do?

SNOPES absolutely sanitizes the events. The tape is Hillary in her own words,
spoken years ago. SNOPES' explanation is recent damage control and an obvious
attempt to clean up what is heard on the tape in Hillary's own words. So
complete, that they, either SNOPES or the Clinton campaign, had to go get a
judge, no doubt a Clinton supporter, campaign contributor to write something up
in her defense and explain away what she said on the tape.
Old Clinton trick, declare *nothing new here*. Well, the snopes attempt to
cover for the Clinton's *is* new with new sources. The tape is the original.

There's nothing "sanitized" about what's on Snopes. The tapes and
transcripts are the same as what's on the page you link to, and that were
provided by the original report in the Washington Free Beacon, on which the
Daily News story is based. Nothing new here, sorry.

Actually Broaddrick wasn't "dealing with him." But she could have had him
charged with rape if she wanted to.

She had witnesses of the aftermath, a bloodied, bruised, and swollen upper lip
which she claims he bit in order to keep her from screaming during the attack.

 She screams with her lips?

it would be nice if both took a polygraph, although Hillary says she has lost
her confidence in them.

You did notice the date of the affidavit regarding Trump and alleged rape of
thirteen year old girl, June 18 2016? Does that sound suspicious to you?

Thanks for posting the link. I watched all of the Lesson 1. Excellent, and I
can't wait to see Lesson 2.
I had a precognitive dream about this lecture last night. Saw Jessamine
Verrill in the audience (she died some years back).
