Fleetwood, this is such a beautiful piece of writing, almost a poem with its

Dear Fleety,

But about me.

Interesting comment you make about rocks and consciousness. I'll tell you why.
I chose to live in NYC for the people. Other places have beautiful buttes and
wild valleys. We got people. Now, I always figured 'different tastes for
different folks' and 'each to her own'. But now I'm trying to figure the Urban
animal and the Nature animal.

I got a house at the beach. There's woods. Nice light, attracts artists. So
what's the consciousness of All Those Many People in my city mouse and what's
the consciousness at the county, with less human consciousness? Do you know?

We got wild turkeys. No canyon updrafts. You got the picture? Ready to answer?

Also the sunsets a East Coast's top-notch. But I guess the sun usually sets in
the West.

Please let me know, cause I got lots more questions.

Yeah, a really good question, to savor:

Being surrounded by people, there is the opportunity to learn a great many
lessons, quickly, as all of us  together merge into the Universal mind;
Intellect and Heart, and each one has infinity burning within them. Anywhere in
the world.

So, what a wonderful opportunity, to learn all about people, in New York City,
how each of us is wonderfully, and inexplicably, expressed, and exposed. Full
consciousness, and full of mental energy, too. Expressed everywhere, in faces
and bodies and buildings, streets, windows, and smells, colors, and music; a
manifestation of each fullness, of each human consciousness. Millions of
infinities, just in New York City.

Hi Dan, Yay us! We rock!! I think we should both fly to the Netherlands and
give Barry a great big hug!! (wearing the appropriate bio-hazard protective
clothing, of course (...now, there's a Fashion Week I'd like to see...)).

We are halfway moved - On the property in our RV, but not in the house yet,
Another month and our stuff arrives. Absolutely loving it - The property is a
big rectangle, 400' by 250', on a butte about 1300 feet up, dropping off to a
canyon in the back. Yesterday, I took my weed-whacker, chainsaw, and clippers,
to widen and cut some trails, and set another game trail camera, on the wild
acreage. It is fairly steep back there, and is also pretty dense. I am leaning
towards the tree ladder, with a bench on top, since moving construction
materials and finding the right tree for a tree house, would both be tough.
There is so much to do here, and so much to observe, and settle into. As busy
as NYC, though mostly silent, hoppin' and boppin'.

Anyway, back to faking like its real.

Yeah, rocks rock. Such presence and consciousness. I did some kick ass
hardscaping at my old place, but it doesn't come close to the many rocks here,
large, volcanic, and ancient. We are on a massive lava cap here. A butte is
flat on top, extending out from a mountain range, like a dry peninsula, with
cliffs on three sides, dropping into wild valleys. Pretty spooktacular, as my
wife would say.

Our instant ritual is watching the choreography of the turkey vultures, on the
canyon updrafts, in the early evening, followed by a multi-hued sunset, and
just a little later, the moon rise. Such a huge sky.

 Enjoy those beautiful women, too!

Dear Fleety,

I enjoy your descriptions and enthusiasm! Thanks.

spooktacular she says! She speaks my kinda language! And why does that sqigly
line always show up? Annoying.

Being surrounded by people, there is the opportunity to learn a great many
lessons, quickly, as all of us  together merge into the Universal mind;

The wild is like that, with endless diversity, and birth and death, infinite
consciousness, and drama, and seamlessness, except that it doesn't think as
much. The lizards sit in the sun, and the deer graze the woods, and the trees
grow silently, the wind shifts, the sun and moon rise and set, each with a
purpose and adaptation that is already known deeply to them, for thousands of
years, at least. That is my nourishment, inside and out. I am in a constant
state of awe here, and enjoy the constantly overwhelming nature, of nature - It
must be my nature.

[FairfieldLife] Barry's FFL addiction [Re: Tapas]

2014-09-10 Thread fleetwood_macnche...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]
Once again, Barry eats alone. Barry drinks alone. Barry types on his laptop,
alone, openly chuckling to himself when in public, and doing other things to be
subtly (hopefully) noticed (by a woman, hopefully), at his seat at the cafe,
alone.

But, it looks like the fish stopped biting a long time ago, and no one,
male or female, is particularly interested in the lonely man, drinking beer,
and smiling weirdly into his laptop.

So, he rants and he raves, at all of us here on FFL, all that he has left,
while ever maintaining the fiction that his life is far superior to anyone
else's, that he is the most of everything, and we are fortunate to read his
insults.

Then he looks up from the laptop, realizes he is, once again, all by himself,
gets another beer, and dives back into the one place in his life, as much as he
hates it, where he is no longer alone, FFL.

Barry is addicted, here. With his longing to be hip and groovy, FFL is the
last place he wants to be. He used to run with his posse on here, but they have
all left. He used to run the show, dammit!

But now, as much as he invokes Curtis's name, like a wayward mantra, Curtis
rarely comes back. Same with all of the others he wishes would return, Marek,
Sally S, to keep him from looking like the desperate fish out of water that he
is.

This is not his scene. All he does is get angry at all of us. And the more he
rants, the worse he feels about himself. But he has nothing else, and no other
way to get adults to pay attention to him. A spiral downward:

Anyway, I like the Spanish version of tapas much more. Little dishes of fish or
shellfish or veggies or meats, small enough so that you can order 3 to start
with and stop there if that satisfies you, or order 3 more (or 12 more) if the
first course doesn't. It's a perfect eating style for me, because I tend to
have a small appetite and like to graze, rather than eating a long, full
meal. YMMV.

This is a very important post. We now know that bawee likes to graze rather
than eat a full meal. I will go forth today feeling that much more enriched and
empowered. Keep these posts coming bawee. And, I was not disappointed because
you were able, as is your usual style and form, to denigrate others while

hates it, where he is no longer alone, FFL.

No, not that silly practice that wannabee yogis perform when they want to feel
all self-important for abstaining from doing something they'd rather be doing
than abstaining from. Tapas, the cuisine from Spain. I felt like having some
today, and fortunately in Leiden one can find pretty much any type of food in
the world, so now I'm comfortably seated at a canalside restaurant enjoying a
beer and some albondigas and calamares and mejillones, abstaining from nothing.
*Much* better form of tapas than that yogi stuff.

I've never understood that spiritual kinda tapas, and why people get off on
it. It's like they expect some kinda brownie points for *resisting* something
that the Natural Tendency Of Their Minds is drawing them towards? WTF? Just
doesn't compute for me.

I don't even get the concept. I mean, is some god or some Law Of Nature
supposed to be *impressed* by some monk who (similar to TM guys on rounding
courses) spends 90% of his time thinking about sex, but isn't really ever
gettin' any? Seems to me that the god or the Law in question would want the guy
to Go Get Laid Already, so that he could come back to meditation and spend a
little time transcending.

Anyway, I like the Spanish version of tapas much more. Little dishes of fish
or shellfish or veggies or meats, small enough so that you can order 3 to start
with and stop there if that satisfies you, or order 3 more (or 12 more) if the
first course doesn't. It's a perfect eating style for me, because I tend to
have a small appetite and like to graze, rather than eating a long, full
meal. YMMV.

This is a very important post. We now know

Dear Fleet,

we belong to a mutual admiration society!

Did you move yet. Have you seen the TV (I know, I know) Public Broadcasting
Show about the treehouse building guy? I'd google the name, but for I'm writing
to you. More person-to-person, less Google-to-Google, and not-at-all
Wikipedia-to-Wikipedia.

My memories of childhood treehouses remain as vivid as the actual living of it
all.

I guess if I built one now, it might last the Summer. My carpentry has gotten
atrophied here in Manhattan.

About all the fuss, drama, and downright indignation, about how many there
have been, I don't get it. If a race competition is coming up, don't we need
to train?

Well, brace yourself, I just responded to my detractors with a doozy. Can't
wait for Others' responses. Always entertaining.

And ain't That what it's All about?

I sense the announcement of a North American dinner date approaching. If I
don't get invited to this one I don't know what I'll do.
