 Dear Robin,

Such a great joy to hear from you again.  Thank you for infusing FFL with a
little humor and wisdom and poetry and positive energy.  Your presence is a
gift here and your perspicacity is not easily matched.  I am off to the beach
today to unplug for a couple of weeks, but I wanted to let you know how very
much I enjoyed reading your posts this week.  ~Em

Yes, but: Emily tries and understands, ah oh/ She's not inclined to borrow
somebody's dreams for today.../ [She'll] keep [her] mind and play.

Your call here. Maybe she understands you (or you feel understood by her), but
not me. LOL

Dear Emily,

I think I may have come back onto FFL just to read your posts of today—and to
listen to Joan, who kept me from getting too Vedic back there when I was ready
to take my place inside the Shankaracharya tradition. :-) [Oh, yes: I just
remembered: you have never done TM. Well the Shank tradition that's where
Maharishi's Master came from, Guru Dev, the guy Maharishi insisted brought
about the independence of India—by meditating in the Himalayan forest. That's
why Maharishi sent Rick Archer to Tehran when the Islamic Revolution there was
breaking out. Rick and his TM buddies were going to somehow reconcile The Shah
and The Ayatollah (at least I must presume this was the idea). Unless Maharishi
wanted to create a theocracy, I think in this case the experiment failed—but I
haven't talked to Rick about this. Hi Rick.]

It's a funny thing, Em, but it seems 'my first person ontology' likes hearing
nice things about me rather than the other. [Just an aside: Has anyone else had
this experience?] But I don't take this as flattery from you; it seems real
enough. But by cracky, it sure gets the love going. Thanks for staying at the
Party—after I left it—I thought for good. I knew I travelled to Iran for a
reason—it eventually resulted in Emily saying what she says here. Just a little
irony here: Maharishi used to say—later imitated by leaders in the TM
Movement—something like: It gives me great joy . . .—the expression became so
cloying and surfeit; it came to embody the excruciating artifice which entered
into the Movement after the late seventies. But coming from you—a non TMer—it
is fresh and buoyant.

You might just have made yourself famous by your two other posts today.

Somewhere in the universe where there is happiness that doesn't end.

Thanks, Em. We love you.

Robin
