And the deception is deeper and more extensive than even you suspect. Not only is the person posting as 'Judy Stein' or 'authfriend' really the same person posting as 'TurquoiseB' or 'Barry Wright,' both of them are really Jim. 'Willytex' (Richard J. Williams) is really Jim. RJ (Robert/'Babaji') is really Jim. Curtis is really Jim and Sal is really Jim and Nabby is really Jim. In fact, there is some possibility that YOU are really Jim, and that you would realize this if you were just as enlightened as Jim is. It's a kind of mahavakya realization: "I am Jim. Thou are Jim. All this is nothing but Jim." And *ALL* of us are ambivalent about our sexual orientation. :-)

Jim gets a little panicky when the only person on the forum who still claims to believe that ed11 isn't Jim has posted out for the week, and can't step in to defend him. :-) Me, I'll allow him to rant however he wants. I don't quite understand what he *gets* out of this pretending-to-be-a-woman thang, but it obviously gets him off on some level. Maybe it's one of those guru-bhakti gay things. Whatever. I wish him well with it. What I don't quite understand is how in *his* mind he resolves posing as a woman on FFL with being "enlightened." In *all three* of his "incarnations" on FFL -- jim_flanegin, sandiego, and enlightened_dawn -- he has claimed to be enlightened. And yet in this most recent incar- nation as ed11, he has lied by omission (by allowing people to believe he's a woman) and by commission (by lying outright about who he is and where he lives) many times. HOW does he resolve doing that with still claiming to be "enlightened?" Is it that Jim's view of "enlightenment" is that it isn't wrong to lie to people who are not as enlightened as he is? He'd certainly be in good company if that's the explanation. Maharishi certainly believed that. Nabby certainly believes that. Judy believes it strongly enough to defend withholding information from prospective TM students. So maybe Jim dressing up as a woman (in a cyber kinda way) as ed11 and pretending to be something he's not is just the logical extension of Jim dressing up as Jim Flanegin and pretending to be something he's not -- enlightened. If one has invested years in trying to sell the fantasy that he is enlightened, trying to sell the fantasy that he's a she is not all that different. Whatever. It's all part of a day's entertainment here on Fairfield Life.

[FairfieldLife] Re: If you had to be a true believer, which one would you be?
correct L.Shaddai-- definitely a group of little boys and girls with Barry as the ringleader, playing out their school yard routine, over and over again, including Vaj. what is funny is how transparent the whole thing is, yet neither Barry, Curtis, Vaj or Sal even see it. my experiment today was to post Barry's exact words back to Curtis and he was so fixated on it being "Jim" that he didn't realize, nor react as if it was Barry. this little gang of know-nothings level charges all day and all night at those whom they see as inferior to themselves (practitioners of TM), they, the know-nothings who see the "truth" and reality behind TM and the Maharishi. and yet they are the real true believers on this forum, not a hairsbreadth difference of opinion among the lot of them. not only that, but we all find it incredibly odd that this little gang hasn't practiced TM collectively for something like 100 YEARS, over A CENTURY OF NON-PRACTICE, but can't do much else but discuss endlessly its shortcomings, week in and week out. very, very strange behavior. its like if any of the rest of us were to go onto a forum about learning to drive, having given it up 20 or 30 years ago, and now constantly screeched about how driving was a bad thing, and drivers just did it to feel special, and that driving didn't work, didn't get anybody anywhere. if this little gang of misfits were to admit their behavior to anyone outside of FFL, they'd either be laughed out of the room, or given some very peculiar looks: Barry, Curtis, Vaj or Sal: "Yep, I belong to a forum called Fairfield Life (FFL) and mostly write posts critical of elements of TM and its founder, the Maharishi" Barry, Curtis, Vaj or Sal: "uh, no...I haven't practiced the technique for awhile. I don't believe in it..." Barry, Curtis, Vaj or Sal: "right, I talk about it and criticize it constantly" Barry, Curtis, Vaj or Sal: " uh...I haven't done it for several decades...right, twenty or thirty years..." Barry, Curtis, Vaj or Sal: "my reason for still talking about it?? ...uh...to show those who do it how wrong they are...to cast doubt in their minds about the practice...to complain about it, and to rehash my now decades old negative impressions" Barry, Curtis, Vaj or Sal: "...right...I've been on the forum for years...What? Has anyone stopped or changed their thinking as a result of my thousands of posts? u...no..." Barry, Curtis, Vaj or Sal: "...right, like I said I haven't done TM for decades..." Barry, Curtis, Vaj or Sal: "why am I still on the forum?? ...hey, why are you asking me all of these questions anyway? you don't practice TM DO YOU? TM is a lousy beginner's technique, for fools and people who are BRAINWASHED! THEY ARE TRUE BELIEVERS!! TRUE BELIEVERS, I TELL YOU!!!I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO KEEP CRITICIZING TM FOR ANOTHER THIRTY YEARS!!!...I'LL NEVER STOP! I'LL Never Stop!...never stop!...never" isn't there something just plain wrong with that picture?? --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, I am the eternal wrote: > > On Wed, Apr 15, 2009 at 6:42 PM, Vaj wrote: > > Are you not aware that you are coming across as not only "a bit creepy" > > yourself, but also as the great fool; Barry's main Poodle on FFL that has > > bought into his fantasies, "sink and hookers" ? > > > > He's got you there, Curtis. His favority referrance from the world of TV used to be the scene in Seinfeld when Elaine was considering what men where "spongeworthy". Barry the Turq is getting older and have felt this problem rather intensely, as he has related here on FFL. Now to his intense horror he has discovered that Seinfeld is a long-time TM'er since 30 years and he will never again make a refferanse to his favorite TV-series.

Since my response said exactly the opposite, I'm gunna go with a "no" to that. But all such humor needs a context of intent from the person to be perceived as friendly, which is why I object to your new veiled persona. In the context of a person's unfriendly intent then it isn't a joke at all. If you are joking you will find your audience more receptive to that angle if you are able to make fun of yourself a bit, which is not a quality you have shown here lately. Let's use Edg for an example. In the beginning we were kind of harsh with each other. But neither of us had developed a trust context. But over time he demonstrated a self-effacing quality that I accept as genuine. So he could call me a flaming asshole now, and my first default would be humor rather than that he had gone Mr. Hyde on me. I trust that he isn't defaulting to the worst impression of who I am. As another poster who is never just "joking" with his putdowns, we have Richard. Since you have abandoned the context of our previous posting relationship I'm really not sure how to take your posts. But as I said, I'll accept that your intent is more humor than malicious and run what you write through that filter first next time. But if you are interacting with someone who is transparently being themselves here through a filter of anonymity, you are not gunna get the benefit of the doubt automatically. Imagine being at a party and a guy wearing a mask comes up to you and announces: "Hey everybody, look at this asshole!" Your first response might not be, "Wow this guy is using friendly put-down humor to communicate with me. I'll just assume that without being able to even see his eyes." > > --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, "curtisdeltablues" > wrote: > > > > --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, enlightened_dawn11 wrote: > > > > > > i'm not terribly hung up about sex. i talk about it here far more often > > > than i actually have sex. It's probably on their minds most of the time - they may even dream about it in their sleep. But, now they're actually talking about the sex life, or lack thereof, between two dead guys. Now that's REALLY strange, and one of them claims to be 'Uncle Tantra'. I'd say that these three, Curtis, Barry, and Edg are probably more hung-up on sex and homosexuality than the Marshy ever was - I mean, look how they defend themselves - arguing with Judy. Now they're even fantasizing how the Marshy did, or wanted to, do it to the Guru Dev. It always seems to come back to sex with these guys. I wonder if the real reason they're here is to engage in sex talk. But you have to take into consideration that these three were cult leaders and obviously sexually repressed individuals, or at least sexually conflicted, otherwise, why in the world would they have joined a cult in the first place? The fact that they're still talking about the Marshy's private sex life after all these years should indicate the depth of the love they had for the man. They will say that it was only platonic love, but all the arguments they've used against the Marshy can be applied to them as well. It may be that the three need some really good professional counseling, but that apparently is not to be - I mean, has anyone of them ever said that they consulted a good cult exit counselor after they got kicked out? What are we supposed to be, their online shrinks?

i'm not terribly hung up about sex. i talk about it here far more often than i actually have sex. But i do talk about it often because so many here are caught up in rigid views about sex and sexuality that they seem to have picked up from the spiritual, social, and religious systems that they are "within" and that they identify with. so i post funny or light stuff about sex and then just step back and watch to see who can respond in a similar funny or light manner and who cannot, and feels that they have to respond in an emotionally-charged "heavy" way. --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, "curtisdeltablues" wrote: > > --- In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, enlightened_dawn11 wrote: > > > > talk about a couple of latent homosexuals... > > Using the accusation of homosexuality as a personal insult... Each person has his or her own concept of enlightenment, thier own life experience, their own experience with meditation and other spiritual developement technques, etc. Each person has their own prejudices, thier own 'stuff'... Whatever you think of Maharishi or TM or TMO, one things for sure. In one way or another, Maharishi was a mover and a shaker, of many minds to shift, in some cases a lot, in some cases, not so much... But he is famous, he will be remembered, and will be regarded as a teacher of great dedication, to teaching, and structuring until his last breath. I wish I had that kind of passion, and light that he embodied. So, he is a hero, in my mind, as are other people who attempted to evolve and help the human condition. R.G.
[FairfieldLife] Re: If you had to be a true believer, which one would you be?
Reality Check Time. THIS is the way that FFL TM TBs talk about two people who dared to discuss the facts of Maharishi's life without cloaking them in the spiritual bullshit of "perfect spiritual teacher" that they prefer. I Am The Eternal calls such talk "sick," while saying: > Well, we don't have to worry about such talk here in > Texas. We don't have no homosexuals here in Texas. > Least not any live ones anyway. enlightened_dawn11 (a man pretending to be a woman) says, referring to Curtis and me: > talk about a couple of latent homosexuals... nablusoss1008 (our token 'On The Program' TMer and self-claimed former Purusha says: > Bingo. But he does manange to fool some fools. Curtis > comes to mind; he always buyes into whatever is the new > Barry fantasy. Add to that Willytex and Judy melting down and going purple-faced apoplectic in response to someone talking about their "more than human" teacher AS IF HE WERE HUMAN, and I'm sorry, but I don't think it's lookin' as Curtis and I are the 'gay' ones here. These TBs are so gay for Maharishi that they cannot control themselves when someone suggests a way of looking at his life that is different than the way of looking at it that they prefer. So they lapse into invective and insults and slurs, playing "shoot the messenger" for all they're worth. And the clincher? These are people who have practiced TM faithfully for at least 3 decades *each*, and who consistently berate Curtis and I for having lost our way and stopped. WHEN are they going to learn that we don't HAVE to say anything negative about TM. All we have to do is throw out a few ideas that are contrary to the TM dogma and then just sit back and watch the TBs melt down, and thus DEMONSTRATE what TM does to the mind long-term. THEY are the best arguments against TM.

Paul and Ringo and a few other stars got some publicity out of it, but if the press coverage is any indication, the alleged boost to the teaching of TM doesn't seem to actually be happening at all. They produced some video that will run during an upcoming PBS begathon. Something tells me that's not such great company. If anything, recent events just show that Lynch and the most recent crop of TMO lackeys have an impossible task ahead of them: you might say it's an attempt to putall the madness that's been associated with TM over the past quarter-century back into the Vedic bottle. That's not going to happen. As for what "critics" are doing, I haven't seen anyone doing anything with "bananas." I can only speak for myself, and I'm certainly not feeling any distress at all.

Judy said that Bush lied, but offered no evidence. Then, when I said that Kerry lied, she blew her top, even though I cited numerous sources to prove my point. Then, Judy said I posted deliberate lies, when she knew perfectly well that I never intended to do such a thing. So, Judy is a liar too. John Manning and Barry Wright have posted some of the biggest whoppers on the internet! So, if we know Judy, Barry, and John as 'liars' on FFL, it's just normal conversation. It's just that Barry can't seem to resist lying, even when he knows better. Barry has become the poster child for liars about the Marshy and the TMO. He and John Knapp really suck as cult exit counselors. In a recent study it was found that in normal conversation people lie almost every second. Everything people say is a lie, simply because the truth cannot be put into words. From: Judy Stein Subject: Re: For Uncle Tantra about DHMO Newsgroups: alt.meditation.transcendental Date: March 20, 2004 Barry simply cannot stop himself from lying, even when he knows there isn't the slightest chance of his fooling anybody...
Re: [FairfieldLife] Re: If you had to be a true believer, which one would you be?
Nablo parley vous - On FFL we mostly know him as a liar. ---Don't speak for eveyone. Barry, I find, is a great contributor here who often makes me proud to be part of this group due to his spoofing us. My ego is thereby stroked. Trollers, or semi-trollers, here, I find, often contribute nothing, or even make me embarrased to be part of this group. What I find hardest to understand is how so many spiritual accolytes disrespect one another thus often disproving their spiritual growth altogether. It's like heroin addicts dissing alcoholics. And vice versa. The very fact of abuse in each case shows each person to actually be in the same boat as the other. One who fights another must be at least similar enough to potentially make a connection with another. Thus one fighting "the right" must be at least close to the right in order to see and fight it. One on 'the right' may even think they are far left, but that's not true. Someone far left and someone far right will not ever make any connection to fight as they will have no means of communication and no sense of hope to do so. Thus Barry and Judy are necessarily more common to each other than they would wish to be perceived. Or else they wouldn't have any basis for their strange love/hate affair.

You're still calling me 'Willy' when I've told you at least a dozen times that my name is Richard J. Williams. But, it doesn't bother me much - if you want to insist on dehumanizing me by calling me by my email address - if that makes it easier to insult me. But you're not even making any sense. You've changed from being the leader of a Hindu cult religion, to being a leader in the Rama Lenz cult religion, to being a sex-magic tantrist, to what, being a dualistic materialist? That's progress? You've been in and out of cults for most of your adult life. Now I guess you're in denial. One thing hasn't changed - you're still posting on the internet from cafes. It's been what, thirteen years since you made your first attempt as an informant? From: Uncle Tantra Subject: Re: Gnosis + Knowledge Newsgroups: alt.religion.gnostic Date: October 12, 2003 Because you don't know "where I'm coming from in these discussions, I should back- track a little and fill you in, Ok? I am essentially of the buddhist persuasion, and as such believe neither in a "first creation" nor a Creator...

I mean, at one point in time you would have probably said, "I am a human being," and look how *that* changed. :-)

Sorry, but I find it a trivial question. I personally believe that identifying with ANY group to the point that you are talking about is contrary to the spiritual process. I'm not trying to sell this belief to you or to anyone else, but that IS what I believe. I am definitely NOT a Buddhist. I am NOT a Taoist. I am NOT a shamanistic occultist. I enjoy and appreciate and honor aspects of all three studies, but I do not "box myself in" by identifying with them. Hell, Edg, I reject the first of Buddha's Four Noble Truths, "Life is suffering." Can I do that and still "identify" with being called a "Buddhist?" For other people, if they swing that way, I have no problem with them identifying with some "-ism" to the point of considering them- selves an "-ist" of that ilk. Me, it just doesn't float my boat. I reserve the right to "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" spiritually. So about the most I can say in reply to your question that preserves the spirit of it is to second the thoughts of my man Bruce Cockburn (himself a strong Christian): "If there is an '-ism' on this planet that we should all oppose, it is fundamentalism." Even "identifying" with any of the above "-ism's" is too fundamentalist for me. I also hope NEVER to aspire to being a True Believer, in ANYTHING. The essence of belief, to me, is being able to change it at any moment, based on the latest information and my latest perceptions. Look at the FFL Home Page. Bertrand Russell said it best: "What is wanted is not the will to believe, but the wish to find out, which is the exact opposite."
