I found her to be the same way -- very uppity, looking down her nose at 
everyone (except for maybe the Wynne's, some faculty members and BIG 
donors to the university). It could have been a self defense mechanism 
because of her weight problem.

Always?  If you think about the mythical guy the
term came from, this rule doesn't seem to apply.
Narcissus really *was* the most gorgeous guy around,
gazed into the river, and fell in love with his own
reflection.  He could never find its equal in the
world, so he died of heartbreak.  

Come to think of it, though, the inferiority thang 
sounds like a better fate.  :-)

We must agree to disagree.  

The whole reason I nitpicked is that I ran into
Isabelle Adjani in a cafe the other day.  From
what I hear from people who know her, she is a 
tad narcissistic.  Having now seen her in the
flesh, I suggest that she has every right to be.  :-)
