Islamic Prayer? Does it compare with other meditation?
Any science on that by comparison?
What says science?

The neurophysiology of spiritual legitimacy might well come in very handy in
defending the ban. Putting beliefs to test, so to speak. Islam just may fail
the standards at this.

Article 9 of the European convention will probably be the basis for legal
challenges to the Swiss ban. The second part of that article 9 says:

"Freedom to manifest one's religion or beliefs shall be subject only to such
limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society
in the interests of public safety, for the protection of public order, health
or morals, or the protection of the rights and freedoms of others."

Actually Shemp, when a Muslim kills a non- Muslim, he doesn't think he's saving
your soul. He thinks he's put you in your destined place, hell, and becuase of
that, he automaticlly gets out of jail free, passes *go*, collects two hundred
dollars, bypasses judgement and goes to heaven for an eternal orgy. To die in
jihad, for Islam, is the only guaranteed path of salvation. Christians, for the
most part, just get frustrated and storm off in a huff and maybe will pray an
intercessory pray on your behalf.

Oh, no, your life will be very difficult if you aren't Muslim in a Muslim
country and practising another faith. Indeed, the Koran dictates that the host
Muslim country can impose a special tax on those that practise another faith.

But, of course, I admire the Muslims fanatical approach to religion. Like
Christianity, Islam believes that its path is the ONLY way to God and all
others will burn in hell for all eternity if they don't choose Islam. But
unlike Christians who, upon being rejected by you in their attempts to
prostelitize you, may believe you'll burn in hell for all eternity but all
they'll do is depart with a superior and snooty "God loves you" and turn the
other cheeck and leave.

Muslims on the other hand will tell you God hates you for rejecting Islam and
the more fanatical ones will threaten to kill you if you don't convert -- and
often follow through on it.

Now, I ask you: if the prize is eternal life and bliss in the Kingdom of God,
who truly has the courage of their convictions? Who is truly interested in my
welfare: the weak-kneed Christian who will turn the other cheek and walk away?
Or the Muslim with fire in his chest who will risk his own life and a lifetime
in prison in order to get you to the Kingdom of Heaven?

Seems to me that if you're going to buy into the bullshit of the "My way or the
Highway" school of spirituality that he who is willing to risk everything --
your life and his -- to get you to heaven is the one with the courage of his
convictions.

Christianity is truly the Jimmy Carter version of the "I've got the only true
way" religions whereas Islam is the Joe McCarthy version.

And so because Saudi Arabia discriminates, that makes it
OK, right?

Did you read Mr M Qadaffi on the subject- from his comments it would seem
the Swiss are the only ones to see clearly that they could have an invasive

You need to get with the times man.it's more enlightened to allow Muslims
to start living in your own country and do things however they feel necessary.
Just because a few people might die from bombings, and they kill their own
women and daughters is no reason to judge them. It is their way of life, and
only divinity should judge that. Many of their Mullahs interpret such actions
as very holy. Besides, all their supposedly wrong acts are not because they are
wrong, it's because WE are wrong. Get with the times man. Your perception is
way off track.
