Get over it Off World, this is the last post I'll waste on this. I
think FF at this time would have limited appeal to someone who wasn't
into very seriously into TM/TMSP already. And certainly, if what I
understand is true, that one must learn the advanced techniques
before one can do the TM-sidhi program, it's not worth the 20,000+
dollars it would cost. If one is attracted to Hindu forms of mantra
meditation, there are now much better alternatives out there that
will help you experience the actual traditions you've only probably
heard of, and they deliver on the goods.

I've been to both FF and Boulder and I've enjoyed both areas--in fact
at one time I thought it would be ideal to move to FF. But as I've
matured, that opinion has changed. It's also less appealing
geographically to me, as I like a more hilly or mountainous area and
one with more accessibility to culture. I also don't appreciate the
one way or the highway approach of the TM org. I enjoy hanging with
different folks and I appreciate pure lineal teachings and am less
interested in new-fangled fads, new age rehashes or diluted
teachings, but I do understand there is an appeal for the commercial
forms of meditation for some folks still. It's just not for me. I
also would demand a certain level of transparency and ethical
standards from any org I'd be associated with. Knowing what I know, I
could no longer be associated with or supportive of the TM org or
it's programs. I would suspect anyone with high ethical standards
would feel the same way.

[FairfieldLife] Vaj's never been to Fairfield or Narupa

He'd have the opportunity to study and receive enlightenment teachings
from different schools of yogis in their pure, undiluted form,
Christian contemplatives, etc.--and to go study with them in their
 countries if desired.

He would also be studying under some former MUM faculty (still TM
practitioners) who are on faculty there in Narupa. How ironic. You
didn't realise that did you Vaj?

However, if you have been to the place for any length of time, and it is
as good as you say, then great. Mike should try BOTH places for a month
each, then make his choice. What do you think of this idea Vaj?

Also, have you ever been to the Naropa U. in Boulder? or Fairfield?
Please answer this, and for how long in each place?

You could also work on any number of organic farms in the Boulder area
 as well.

The competition for such jobs in Boulder (with nice people, which not
all organic farmers are) is HUGE in Boulder, and you would have to drive
for more than an hour to get there ! Chances are, because of your
advice, he will end up working in a gas station, and being molested by
wannabe demons in the main street of Boulder (I was when I was there.)

You would not be forced to meditate at Naropa, however if you wanted
to, you could--with others or alone. Your choice and your choice of
 meditation.

You can do that in Kalapana, Hawaii, and Brattleboro, Vermont -- and go
naked too in for the bargain. Its fun, I've done both, but not very
spiritually evolutionary.
