The author speculates that the next billion-dollar industry would be upgrading
the human being. This is overly optimistic idea that the human upgrade will be
easy to attain. It seems to me that attaining enlightenment would be an easier
and practical goal than making a materilistic upgrade of the human physical
condition. Let's face it, the fact that humans get old and suffer
deterioration is a human condition that is very hard to avoid.
This hoopla of being able to avoid old age and death is a persistent for
sci-fi topic that may remain as a thought or possibility in the future. but
the reality remains that humans get old and die. and, that economic and and
physical inequalities remain in the world despite attempts by humans to
physically upgrade humans in the future by technological means.
