It's hard to understand why the balance of MMY's Gita commentary

topics found in Chs.7-18 would be an additional problem for the

Maybe somebody should remind Bevan that the sale of a million

of a book would bring in some revenue for the TMO? And of course,
the
gold-edged edition could be sold to TMers for $1000/book...

Many, MANY years ago I used to sell Encyclopaedia Britannica. They
had a sales technique called price conditioning in which when you
got to the end of the presentation just before the close, you went
over with the customer the different Britannica editions they
could choose from. There were about five editions

The first one (I forget the name of it) was for CEOs of companies
and was gold-plated. It sold for $10,000.

The second edition was for something like $4,000.

Well, by the time you got down to the last two -- if memory serves
me right, about $1,895 and $1,000 -- the customers were so grateful
to be away from the $10,000 and $4,000 prices that they were just
darned happy to be around a price they could afford.

I went to his seminar in L.A. very shortly after graduating from and
leaving MIU. It was so refreshing to hear Jerry speak about the basic
knowledge w/o any BS. It was very fortunate for me... as it confirmed my
feelings about my entire MIU experience and what was being taught there
in Maharishi's name. And at the seminar, I saw Andy Kaufman for the last

Don't worry, I am making my own encyclopedia. It will include all that
the TM movement so zealously hid for profit.

In the meantime, I recommend that all who claim interest in the Vedic
Tradition go out and buy a copy of _The Vedic Experience_--when you
get your copy, make it a point (no pun intended) to read the table of

A number of years ago, a WPA at
MIU focused on CPs experiences
and their relationship to shlokas
in the last twelve chapters.
Maharishi wanted the experiences
cataloged and said that that would
be his published commentary on
the rest of the Gita. Apparently,
the results didn't impress him
much, as the results weren't
published or mentioned again.
