I think this response of MMY's is nonsense. I don't know why he's saying it. I remember hearing it many years ago and within the context of the waking state model of development, it makes sense. But once consciousness awakens to itself to any degree, this assumption that we make (ahhh...think I just found the answer) is wrong. We need to hear MMY's exact words. This is probably guru speak stuff that means something other than what most people hear. -Peter If anyone ever offered something like that to me I would have to decline. __ Yahoo! He's probably talking about sadyo-mukti -- instant liberation -- which is extraordinarily rare, as opposed to krama-mukti, gradual enlightenment where elements are slowly assimilated into Self over time. One of the reasons sadyo-mukti is deemed so rare is that most individuals would not be capable of handling it. There are long standing mental habits that create suffering. We don't know how attached we are until we disappear and the mind is still working with nobody home. Very uncomfortable, as Susan clearly articulated in her excellent book. -Peter In FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com, Vaj [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: On Apr 10, 2005, at 8:06 AM, Peter Sutphen wrote: --- rudra_joe [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: And the answer was: yes, I could do that but it would take 10 strong men to hold you down (presumably because the force of the stress release would be so intense).
