My guess is: behind the pseudonym `off_world_beings' there
is a personor persons very familiar with the TMO, who have lived a long
timeinside that system, but not in an important position in it, more
justobserving what is going on there, and now making a parody of it.
Hecan recognize in himself those nasty spirits that are rampant in
theTMO, but are unrecognised by many there. He has found at FFL a
forumwhere he can safely through parody help himself and maybe
othersbetter to recognize those
sentiments.Irmeli-Ie., he has found a stomping ground
where the atmosphere is weird enough so that he doesn't much stand out. He can't
ever be worse than Willy (The Egoist), Lon (The Liar), Judy (Junkyard Dog),
Askolnik (Asshole), Petrus (Fundie till death), English (Pedant) or Eve 69

I hate talking so much as the impact of words is
lost in too much chatter, but I really like the conversations here lately and
feel I have something to add, not a feeling to waste, so here goes... From the
movementI learned to believe in support of nature which made me thought
that to dream was enough. It took me many years at something to realize that
hard work and willpower are essential, maybe more essential than deva power.
Deva power is good too but God helps those who help themselves (and others). As
an odd aside, many people live thinking about how to make a buck, but some live
thinking and wishing they could just make some positive difference. My whole
life I always sobbed during the Olympics and other feats of greatness feeling
left out. The Dharmata is Great. So also are one's dreams, but as important is
personal willpower. If you will be inconsolable without your destiny then you
simply must have it. I believe in thosoe particular people for whom truth and
goodness are their currency, in spite of cash, who therefore sow a crop of good
acts thoughts and words. I believe that as some stockbrokers hit it rich so also
some few people are there actively sponsoring wellness for the beings
everywhere. The payoff in feelings of wellness are great. This too may
just be weakness and an addiction. But it's one I want to try.

seriously make the comments that Off_world does. Does
anyone know him? Is he some kind of TMO plant? If he

into this immature, petty name calling that can have a
rather strange logic to them. Not as bad as WD who

Maharishi, in general, treats other people

In terms of his terminology, yes, but the caste differences are greater in
my experience. I've never seen him shovel shit, as Amma has literally done.

I also question the ethics of any of the various

I think they would discourage such

 he founded.

Who said they had to respect him? Also, they were all invited by people who
no longer felt that the TMO was serving their spiritual needs.

I know , its like dogs feeding off the scraps from the Kings banquet.

No, its like the king ran out of food a long time ago, or that many in the court found the food indigestible. So if someone comes along offering more palatable food.

RIGHT ON BOB !
You hit the nail on the head there.
I always thought that was a low way to proceed.
Maharishi is light years ahead of these scavengers.

Have you ever met any of these saints? I think you would be embarrassed at having called them scavengers. But if you want to use that term, lets say that the TMO was good at growing fruit, but lousy at picking it. Dozens of people in Fairfield who felt stuck in their evolution experienced profound, permanent awakenings through the influence of Gangaji, Saniel Bonder, etc. Others may not have awakened but found a much-needed devotional focus in Amma, Karunamayi, Shree Maa and others that the TMO was unable to offer.

Theres the story of Guru Devs master allowing his students to attend another gurus lecture. And someone here posted the story of Guru Dev sending some of his disciples to get a japa mantra from another master.

These gurus and teachers dont send scouts in to gauge the local interest. They are invited by interested locals. People bugged Ammachi to come here for years before she finally came.

and that she plans to open
a Fairfield Ashram and take retreats
there. I must have been mistaken.

Youre confusing your Ammas. Ammachi may (or may not) open an ashram here. Karunamayi may take silence here somewhere on the outskirts of town.

You are right, btw, in your mention
elsewhere that death threats against
Amma are a crime, both legally and
morally. There is absolutely no
justification for such actions, and
MUM should publically condemn them.

To do so would be to publicly admit that they happen, which would be an embarrassment. MUM never admits embarrassing things unless under duress.

Enough said.

Fairfield has evolved slowly but surely into an eclectic spiritual community. The TM core wont leave abruptly, so thats a moot point. It may continue to shrink while the general spiritual community (GSC) continues to grow. But even if the TM core were to experience the rapture tomorrow, I think the GSC has enough momentum to survive.

I posted that story. I heard it anecdotally. The saints referred to were

I stand corrected. Either way, whoa.

From one perspective, perhaps her predominant one, she did create them (so did I).

Who said they had to respect him?

The don't, of course. It's just that I get the
idea that at least RS offers up words of respect.
Of course, he hasn't set up a Fairfield ashram
nor visited the town or nearby so far as I know,
so perhaps my argument doesn't really apply
to him.

Probably not. Maharishi was his guru.

Regarding South Fallsburg, I don't know
whether the TM group purchased space there
before SYDA or vice versa. T

TM was there first.

That's cool with me, as I said before. I'm not
against the competitive atmosphere, but
I don't think that this or that guru should
be active participants, especially since
Maharishi has never done that.

Does Maharishi set that standard that all gurus should follow?

A relationship long since severed by the

Was it? I have a friend who was in the room with Pundit-Ji on several occasions when Maharishi called and they had a long friendly chat. And even if that no longer happens, has the relationship really been severed?

Does Maharishi set that standard that all gurus should follow?

Absolutely not. Others are free to encourage
parasitism as much or as little as they like.

parasitism: your bias. May not actually be the case.

I don't have any deep knowledge of Amma's
gig, but the very distant view I have is of a
  pretentious attitude toward those who
approach her. As I recall, for instance,

I posted that story. I heard it anecdotally. The

Bob Dodge of Providence, RI told me that he was the
one who heard that from Amma. Amma said it to him when
he was with her in India.

Maharishi, in general, treats other people

In terms of his terminology, yes, but the caste
 differences are greater in
my experience. I've never seen him shovel shit, as
 Amma has literally done.

I also question the ethics of any of the various

I think they would discourage such
  encroachment on the spiritual community
  he founded.

Who said they had to respect him? Also, they were
 all invited by people who
no longer felt that the TMO was serving their
