Traditionally we have used DejaVu Sans (or Bitstream Vera Sans) But of course she can use any font included in the distro (Liberation, whatever) if she think it is better for the specific design. -- nicu :: http://nicubunu.ro :: http://nicubunu.blogspot.com Cool Fedora wallpapers: http://fedora.nicubunu.ro/wallpapers/ Open Clip Art Library: http://www.openclipart.org my Fedora stuff: http://fedora.nicubunu.ro ___ Fedora-art-list mailing list Fedora-art-list@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-art-list
Re: Opinions on icons
Just my opinion: Well the icons look good indeed.. but i wonder if he is capable of making echo icons in the echo color theme (i find the verry hard to do) and judging from his current icons that have a ton of gradients inside them i think he will need to learn a lot more to make echo icons in the echo theme.. but it would be a gread addition to the art team if he would join. The biggest issue with those icons (speaking for myself now) is that it's not hard to imitate a existing icon and just recreate it in a slightly different style isn't the best thing.. having the imagination to come up with icons that are already telling you what you can expect is the important thing (example the echo settings icon is just telling that you are about to change some settings when you click it. you just need people for the echo icon theme that can do this. IF this person can(?) do that than i would deffinately ask him to join. Hope this helps. ___ Fedora-art-list mailing list Fedora-art-list@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-art-list
Re: Free fonts
• You may not Sell or Distribute my Fonts for profit or alter the font file(s) [.ttf .fon] in any way without asking me first. I understand your quote but is that a issue? is isn't for a profit and it isn't altering the font files themselve.. just packaging them in a .deb or .rpm the actual files aren't changing. And it would be nice to just tell aefonts[AT]frontiernet[DOT]net that his fonts might be packaged. ___ Fedora-art-list mailing list Fedora-art-list@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-art-list
Help Wanted: Artistic World Map Projections
Anyone interested in producing artsy map projections to replace the map projection drawn by matplotlib in: http://jspaleta.fedorapeople.org/Fedora-World-Maps/clientmap.png Instead of having matplotlib draw the world map, I'd be interested in having an artistic svg of the world that I could reuse, deform, transform as needed over which I can to lay interesting data representations like client density in the example URL. Initially I'm in the market for a cylindrical map projection of the whole world just like I'm having matplotlib draw now: rectangular image vertical axis = latitude: bottom is -90 top is +90 horizontal axis = longitude: left is -180 right is 180 But I'd also be interested in artistic regional maps, with smaller lat/lon ranges. -jef ___ Fedora-art-list mailing list Fedora-art-list@redhat.com http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-art-list
