I personally quite like N and N1, not the last template though.

Hi!

I would suggest to keep the tab colors as they are in clearlooks (not
the whole tabs appearance, the shadows is nice, but just the gradient
color, as opposed to the current one line stroke on the top), as it is
distracting.

I'm referring to the this mockup
