(In reply to comment #7)
Thanks for doing that. It would be good to add a quick comment to the spec
near the License: tag indicating which parts are GPLv2 and which are GPLv2+ so
you don't have to look for the COPYRIGHT files.
Fixed.

I can't quite tell if the svxlink-server package needs a dependency on udev
(for /etc/udev/rules.d) or whether the dependency chain includes it.
Added udev dependency.

I note that the .so files aren't executable. I was under the impression that
they needed to be executable for things to work, and my systems don't seem to
have any non-executable so files in _libdir.
Fixed. Though I can find non-executable files in my _libdir. I guess it all
depends on the loading method. Anyway this is seamless thing to do.

Any reason for not using the standard user management scriptlet? As it is
 now,
your system fails badly if the svxlink user is defined somewhere other than
/etc/passwd (such as on my LDAP server). Check
 http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/UsersAndGroups for more info; it's
basically just calling getent. Also, you will need Requries(pre):
 shadow-utils
 for that scriptlet.
Fixed.

(In reply to comment #14)
 Some further comments.

 Please fix:
 install -D -p -m 755 packages/rpm/mldonkey.sysconfig
 $RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{_sysconfdir}/sysconfig/mldonkey
 Change 755 to 644.

Done.

 BuildRequires: m4
 BuildRequires: autoconf

Why does it need these two?

Removed. Another one leftover.

Shouldn't the -gui subpackage require the main package? Or can it function
 independently?

Will investigate later. I, personally, don't use gui.

 sed -i 's|\r||g' distrib/ed2k_submit/README.MLdonkeySubmit
 sed -i 's|\r||g' docs/slavanap.txt

 iconv -f iso8859-1 -t UTF-8 docs/gnutella.txt docs/gnutella.utf8 mv
 docs/gnutella.{utf8,txt}
 iconv -f iso8859-1 -t UTF-8 distrib/Authors.txt distrib/Authors.utf8 mv
 distrib/Authors.{utf8,txt}

This doesn't preserve original file timestamps. Please use touch -r to do
 that.

There are a lot of similar issues in this spec-file. Actually, I don't think
that we need to preserve timestamps in that case, because we do change file
contents.

 # menu and pixmaps
 install packages/rpm/mldonkey-icon-16.png -D -m 644
 $RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{_datadir}/icons/hicolor/16x16/apps/mldonkey.png
 install packages/rpm/mldonkey-icon-32.png -D -m 644
 $RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{_datadir}/icons/hicolor/32x32/apps/mldonkey.png
 install packages/rpm/mldonkey-icon-48.png -D -m 644
 $RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{_datadir}/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/mldonkey.png

 I suggest a loop:
 for sz in 16 32 48 ; do
   install packages/rpm/mldonkey-icon-${sz}.png -D -m 644
 $RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{_datadir}/icons/hicolor/${sz}x${sz}/apps/mldonkey.png
 done

Doesn't save any line (from 3 similar lines to the same 3, but completely
different :)

 %files
 ...
 %{_bindir}/copysources
 %{_bindir}/get_range
 %{_bindir}/make_torrent
 ...
 %{_bindir}/subconv
 %{_bindir}/svg_converter

These filenames seem a little too generic. Are they supposed to be run by the
user? Could you add a ml prefix to them?

Yes. Some of them (exept another one leftover - 'copysources' utility) may be
used even by user. For example, make_torrent can be used even w/o main mldonkey
package. Maybe we should package them in their own sub-packages?

Your license tag does not seem to be correct. At least the source files I

The problem may be related to

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=166673

It is mentioned, that GPG encrypted messages are ignored silently by kopete, if
no kopete-cryptography is available. So maybe kopete is not correctly aware of
the kopete-cryptography module? That may be a kopete or a kopete-cryptography
issue.

--- Comment #2 from Dan Horák [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-12-07 10:29:49 EDT ---
So first round of issues found during the review
- wrong Group tags are used - check /usr/share/doc/rpm-*/GROUPS for valid group
names, I suggest to use System Environment/Daemons (nufw, nuauth) , System
Environment/Libraries (client library, pam), Applications/Internet (utils),
Development/Libraries (for -devel), Development/Languages (for the python
bindings)
- drop the %{epoch} from the Provides/Requires/... as it is not defined/used
- preserve timestamps on manually installed files - use cp -p or install -p
- license is GPLv2 only, there is no or any later version clause in the
sources
- license text included in the source archive, but not included in any package
as %doc
- %{_sysconfdir}/nufw/ is owned by multiple packages (nufw, nufw-utils,
nuauth), only one should really own it, other packages get it through the
dependencies
- wrong initscript scriplets and package dependencies
- wrong shared library scriptlets (%postun is missing)
- %defattr(-,root,root,-) should be used
- no need to specify --localstatedir when running %configure, it is set to /var
automatically
- static library and *.la archive are packaged in -devel (use %exclude in
%files or rm in %install)
- including the whole doc directory as %doc is not necessary, grab only the
README.* and the non-manpages (acls, cache_system and debug)
- the included initscript are not compliant with Fedora - LSB header is
missing, service is enabled by default, ...
- the auth and log modules are linked as shared libs (including the version
info), so they install *.so, *.so.0 and *.so.0.0.0 - they should use
-avoid-version in the link command
- don't use /var/... in %file, use %{_localstatedir} instead
- the %description for -utils talks about nutcpc, but it is stored in its own
sub-package
- split the Provides for nuauth to multiple lines
- there is no need for the Obsoletes for nuauth
- the Requires for nuauth are wrong, there are no such packages like
sasl-plug-*, you want probably cyrus-sasl-*
- the pam module contains rpath and the BuildRequire: chrpath is not used
- the library subpackage is usually called foo-libs with headers in foo-devel,
you can Provide: libnuclient for compatibility
- why not to rename the nufw-nuauth-* packages only to nuath-*

Please read the https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/Guidelines and linked
pages for details.

xdg-open arguably may be reliable, but then gnome-open is not. gnome-open
tries to open the file in abiword, rather than firefox. Abiword balks saying it
can't handle the file. The bottom line is that using xdg-open to launch file
the file does not work.

--- Comment #5 from Peter Lemenkov [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-12-07 10:38:38 EDT
---
(In reply to comment #4)

You have Patch0: but call %patch instead of %patch0. rpm these days doesn't
 permit that.

Fixed.

You can probably drop the BuildRequires conditional for Fedora 8; new branches
for that release aren't accepted any longer so you only have to consider F-9
 and newer.

Actually, I can't - I plan to submit this package for EPEL as well.

If I fix the %patch problem, the package builds and rpmlint says:
   python-sippy.src:13: W: unversioned-explicit-provides sippy
You should essentially never use an unversioned Provides: like that, because
 it
makes it impossible to bring back a package with that name. See
 https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/NamingGuidelines#Renaming.2Freplacing_existing_packages
for more information on how to rename packages.

Fixed.

Summary: Review Request: guiloader - GuiXml Loader Library

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=475082

Summary: Review Request: guiloader - GuiXml Loader Library
   Product: Fedora
   Version: rawhide
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: medium
  Priority: medium
 Component: Package Review
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
 QAContact: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED], fedora-package-review@redhat.com
   Estimated Hours: 0.0
Classification: Fedora

Spec URL: http://fab.fedorapeople.org/packages/SRPMS/guiloader.spec
SRPM URL:
http://fab.fedorapeople.org/packages/SRPMS/guiloader-2.12.0-1.fc9.src.rpm

Project URL: http://crow-designer.sourceforge.net/

Description:
GuiLoader is a high-performance and compact GuiXml loader
library. This library allows GTK+ applications to create GUI widgets
and objects at run-time from GuiXml resource files. GuiLoader is
written in C language as a GObject subclass and has a trivial
language-independent API. GuiLoader was designed to be easily wrapped
for any language that has GTK+ bindings.

Koji scratch build:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=985300

rpmlint output:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] i386]$ rpmlint guiloader*
3 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 0 warnings.

[EMAIL PROTECTED] SRPMS]$ rpmlint guiloader*
1 packages and 0 specfiles checked; 0 errors, 0 warnings.

This Review Request based on an old Review Request. -
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206122

As in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=206134 suggested from the
original owner of the Review Request of guiloader, this is the new Review
Request to bring this into Fedora.

--- Comment #30 from Mamoru Tasaka [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008-12-07 12:48:52 EDT

Okay, now for 2.8.1-2:

* Duplicate file entry
---
   129 %files

   142 %{_datadir}/%{name}/
   143 %attr(0755, root, root) %{_datadir}/%{name}/tv_grab_ttx.pl
---

  - This causes the warning like
---
276 warning: File listed twice: /usr/share/nxtvepg/tv_grab_ttx.pl
---
because the %files entry %{_datadir}/%{name} contains
the directory %_datadir/%name itself and all files/directores/etc
under this directory.

For this package it is better that you explicitly modify
the permission of this script at %install like
---
%install
rm -rf %{buildroot}
make %{?_smp_mflags} \
.
  install
.
.
chmod 0755 %{buildroot}%{_datadir}/%{name}/*.pl
---
and remove %attr( tv_grah_ttx.pl line.

Now
- This package itself is okay (but please fix above)
- Now I will sponsor you (if you are still seeking for sponsors)

-
This package (nxtvepg) is APPROVED by mtasaka
-

Please follow the procedure written on:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/Join
from Get a Fedora Account.
After you request for sponsorship a mail will be sent to sponsor
members automatically (which is invisible for you) which notifies
that you need a sponsor. After that, please also write on
this bug for confirmation that you requested for sponsorship and
your FAS (Fedora Account System) name. Then I will sponsor you.

If you want to import this package into Fedora 10/9, you also have
to look at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/UpdatesSystem/Bodhi-info-DRAFT
(after once you rebuilt this package on koji Fedora rebuilding system).

If you have questions, please ask me.

DO you know what it is used for in this program? Can it be removed or
 renamed?
Upstream hasn't decided whether to rename of remove this program.
I decided to rename this to tucnak2-soundwrapper meanwhile.
Also updated to the latest version.

Description: A simple plug-in to do fourier transform on you image. The major
advantage of this plugin is to be able to work with the transformed image
inside GIMP. You can so draw or apply filters in fourier space, and get the
modified image with an inverse FFT.

Description:

SPEC: http://rakesh.fedorapeople.org/spec/python-Traits.spec
SRPM: http://rakesh.fedorapeople.org/srpm/python-Traits-3.0.2-1.fc10.src.rpm

The traits package developed by Enthought provides a special type
definition called a trait. Although they can be used as normal Python object
attributes, traits also have several additional characteristics:

* Initialization: A trait can be assigned a default value.
* Validation: A trait attribute's type can be explicitly declared.
* Delegation: The value of a trait attribute can be contained either
  in another object.
* Notification: Setting the value of a trait attribute can trigger
notification of other parts of the program.
* Visualization: User interfaces that permit the interactive
modification of a trait's value can be automatically constructed
  using the trait's definition.

I know, but 2.13.0 needs newer libraries than are available for Fedora 9.

Requested 'glib-2.0 = 2.18' but version of GLib is 2.16.6
Requested 'gtk+-2.0 = 2.14' but version of GTK+ is 2.12.12

Per example, glib2 in Fedora 10 is 2.19.2.

MonkeyStudio runs everywhere Qt 4.4.0 ( minimum required to build it )

unsightly configuration files. MonkyStudio is also a multi language

Hmm, not sure what's wrong there. That Makefile is included in python-devel,
which is a BR. It builds fine in mock on rawhide for me. I've been trying to do
a scratchbuild but Koji seems to be having an issue.

[Bug 475116] New: Review Request: python-ldaphelper - a wrapper around python-ldap search results

2008-12-07 Thread bugzilla
Please do not reply directly to this email. All additional
comments should be made in the comments box of this bug.

Summary: Review Request: python-ldaphelper - a wrapper around python-ldap
search results

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=475116

Summary: Review Request: python-ldaphelper - a wrapper around
python-ldap search results
   Product: Fedora
   Version: rawhide
  Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: medium
  Priority: medium
 Component: Package Review
AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
 QAContact: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
CC: [EMAIL PROTECTED], fedora-package-review@redhat.com
   Estimated Hours: 0.0
Classification: Fedora

Spec URL: http://jstanley.fedorapeople.org/python-ldaphelper.spec
SRPM URL: http://jstanley.fedorapeople.org/python-ldaphelper-1-1.fc10.src.rpm
Description: A simple library that provides a convenience class around search
results from python-ldap.

NOTE: I'm aware of the discontinuity in licensing between upstream's website,
the actual python file, and the COPYRIGHT file. The first two state MIT, the
latter states GPLv2+. I have an email out to the author to clarify this, and
consider this package blocked until such clarification is received. But please
do review the rest of it since no matter which license it ends up being, it's
acceptable for Fedora.
