Re: [Felvtalk] Ember - rest in peace
Lance, I'm so, so sorry to hear about sweet, beautiful Ember. Sounds similar to what my last 2 positive kittens had. I waited too long with the last one and wished I hadn't. You gave Ember a wonderful life and I am sure she was grateful for that. May the good times you shared together bring you some comfort during this time of grief. Thank you for sharing her story with us. Take care, Katherine On Thu, May 29, 2014 at 7:33 PM, Marsha mar...@lynxe.com wrote: Oh Lance, I am so sorry to hear about Ember. My heart goes out to you. Re: [Felvtalk] Ember - rest in peace
Lance, I understand what you are going through. I blame myself and the vet for not picking up on the dehydratio and how serious it was. I have learned, and the next time any cat exhibits those same symptoms I will act on my own and start water with a bit of sea salt to reestablish their electrolytes and start on raw turkey/chicken livers with a pat of butter added. When I did this, she perked up and had I caught it in time, I do believe that the tonic would have taken care of the cancer as the tumor was dying and it was oozing just like my lymphoma did. That is the only thing we can say in this situation, we have learned and can possibly prevent it from happening again. Don't beat yourself up too much. You acted on what you thought was the best treatment. Second guessing only prolongs the agony. Will keep you in my prayers. And do remember, Ember is not in pain anymore and she did understand that you loved her and were trying your best. Re: [Felvtalk] general list issue
Lance, I am new to these discussions, but I so appreciate your share. I can only imagine your loss, and hope knowing that you gave Ember the best life is a comfort to you. My Sundae is about 9 1/2 months old and I watch her like a hawk. She has been on interferon for about 6 months and thankfully she's thriving. She is one of the sweetest things I've ever met. We love her to no end. Having a support system where I can learn and know what to look out for is such a blessing to me. I just pray that she lives long enough for a cure to be found. After seventeen years of doing this list, such news is still hard to read... Please let me know if there are any other issues that need taken care of. I will try to attend to them ASAP.
