Re: OT: Really good article about Nike and Vick
Tamara, WHENEVER, you can speak up for animals, WHEREVER, you can speak up for animals, IT IS IMPORTANT TO DO SO. It is a long, slow battle, but we must NEVER MISS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK UP FOR ANIMALS... WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE, NO MATTER HOW SMALL, IF IT AMOUNTS TO JUST NOT BUYING THAT DEAD TURKEY FOR THANKGIVING DINNER... I HOPE YOU CAN APPRECIATE MY POINT AND MY FEELINGS HERE. I REALLY DO NOT THINK WE COULD HURT THEM, NIKE, AT ALL , BUT TO USE THEM, AS A PLATFORM, TO SCREAM OUR LUNGS OUT FOR ANIMAL RIGHTS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY...NOT TO MENTION SLAMMING VICK. APPARENTLY, YOU HAVE BEEN THINKING ON THOSE SAME LINES THESE LAST 15-YEARS WHEN IT COMES TO HUMAN RIGHTS? ACTING ON WHAT YOU HAVE HEARD. GOOD FOR YOU! NIKE MUST BE KIND OF LIKE, TO PEOPLE, WHAT IAMS IS TO ANIMALS? BOTH COMPANIES ,JUST LOOKING AT PROFITS WITH COMPLETE DISREGARD TO DECENCY, KINDNESS***IAMS CONTINUES WITH ANIMAL TESTING, INFLICTING HORRIBLE ABUSES ON DOGS AND CATS.. SO MANY HAVE GOTTEN IN THEIR FACE AND EVEN STOPPED BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS TO NO AVAIL...YET! THE TIME IS COMING, HOWEVER, BECAUSE THEIR UGLY LITTLE SECRET IS OUT...I JUST WANTED TO SPILL THE BEANS ONCE AGAIN, HERE, LIKE EVERYONE HERE DOES NOT ALREADY KNOW ABOUT IAMS... BUT, ANYWAY, THE MORE WE CAN RAISE THESE TYPE OF ISSUES, THE BETTER. WE DO WANT TO INFORM AS MANY AS POSSIBLE OF THE UGLY LITTLE SECRET OF VICK'S DOG ABUSE. THIS IS A NEW STORY...A LOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE, MAY HAVE MISSED THE BRIEF NEWS ACCOUNT OF THIS STORY AND WE SURE DO NOT WANT THIS SLIMEBALL TO THINK HE CAN JUST SIT IT OUT AND THINGS WILL BLOW OVER FOR HIM AND HIS BUDS... : LIKE THE LAST TIME HE GOTTEN ATTENTION FOR HIS ABUSES OF DOGS... WE DO NOT NEED TO LOSE OUR ENTHUSIASM AND MOMENTUM HERE. A KINDER WORLD IS WHAT WE ALL NEED TO BE WORKING TOWARDS...I THINK IT IS SUPER YOU HAVE BEEN AWARE OF NIKE ALL THESE YEARS...AND A LITTLE THORN IN THEIR SIDE TOO, REMINDING THEM...BLESS YOUR HEART! RE: OT: Really good article about Nike and Vick
Right. I have been boycotting Nike myself for years because I was runner and I thought they just plain made horrible products! So my boycott was totally related to that fact that the crap they produced was crap! Sometimes it takes a particular aspect of an issue to get people galvanized. Sadly, sweat-shop conditions and child labor in third world countries is so out-of-sight-out-of-mind for some people, they just don't care. That's wrong, but I'd like to think that if you add one more reason to the already extensive list that hits them closer to home, maybe you will get some of the most reluctant of the reluctants to participate...for once! -Caroline From: "MacKenzie, Kerry N." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>Reply-To: felvtalk@felineleukemia.orgTo: Subject: RE: OT: Really good article about Nike and VickDate: Thu, 19 Jul 2007 13:32:12 -0500 True, but as the lady said, "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world - indeed it is the only thing that ever has!" ~~~ Margaret Meade.
