Previously I had e-mailed to you concerning our over cat population
problem that my mother created---I enclose a copy/paste of some of
my previous e-mails to you. You indicated that you couldn't help
me, but I'm recontacting you again with the hope that you can help
now, as my worst fears have been realized--today in the mail, we
received a letter from the landlord office, a 10-day Notice Of
Cure--we have until March 16th to solve the cat situation in our
apartment-many of the statements in this letter are outright lies
--- stating that on various occassions, certain people in the
landlord's employ, and the landlord himself came into and gained
access into our apartment, and in effect had to wear masks due to
the noxious odors in our apartment due to the cats --- none of this
is true as NO ONE came into our apartment on the days cited ---
also supposedly, a tenant in apt. #2-R complained that they
couldn't open their windows due to the odors from our apartment
reaching them -- THERE IS NO SUCH APT # -
In any event, we ARE being threatened with eviction again--and I' m
urging you, that if you can take at least one or two of our cats,
rather than have them put down I would ever be so greatful--
This is a very urgent plea--please respond--please help! If you
can't help personally please tell me who can.
Really need help
Melanie

I'm contacting you again in the hopes that you'll respond either
way to what I have previously written to you. I realize that pet
shelters, pet rescuers, and foster care programs for pets are
overwhelmed and overflowing with pets--many as I understand had
accepted displaced pets from the Katrina incident.
However, I am asking for your possible aid in the over cat
population problem of which my mother created. While we do not
have the number of cats we had when we were threatened with
eviction almost five years ago, the possibility exists that if our
landlord found out how many we still have (45), he could go ahead
with eviction procedures again--technically speaking according to
yhe stipulation agreement my mother signed with the landlord's
lawyer on June 1, 2001, we're only supposed to have no more than
four. Also, if you'll remember from my previous e-mails, I
indicated that my mother has been in and out of the hospital since
June 7th of last year--she was diagnosed with esophageal cancer,
and has numerous other health problems---I'm her designated
caregiver as no visiting nurse will come since it is known through
their agencies of how many cats we have---lets face it, many people
have a difficult time with one or two cats as many are allergic, or
just don't like cats---it is a bit overwhelming to say the least if
someone were to come into our very small apt. and see 45!
I developed a website to show off some of the cats I hope to adopt
out--its not all of them yet--I don't have the benefit of my own
computer, and rely on either the library ones or at an internet
place--this is a freebie website via tripod, and I have no control
over the ads that they decide to place there---but the website is
better than nothing-most of the cats are in the 8-year and up
range, I have vet records of all---their personality ranges from
friendly to feral like---the more cats I can get adopted out the
better, as soon I'll be forced to make the lousy decision I've been
holding off for about four years, and that is to put the vast
majority of the cats down--I'm sorry, but all has been very
overwhelming for me--I'm dealing with a lot on my plate, the cats,
my mother's health problems, plus struggling to overcome my own
agoraphobic problems, while trying to get my life back in so many
ways, especially on a professional level
Please respond back to me, as to indicate as to whether you can
help or not, and also indicate if you wish me to call you, and
what would be a good time---you can call me as well, my machine is
on 24/7 and can leave a message--my mother
