[FFmpeg-devel] FFmpeg 4.2 / 3.4 / 3.2 / 2.8

2022-05-04 Thread Michael Niedermayer
Hi

Some fixes that where backported to 4.3 / 4.1 where not backported to
4.2 / 3.4 / 3.2 / 2.8

This was reported by Enrico Zini (in CC)

Ive backported these today and will make new releases from the
affected branches.
Theres also a smaller set of memleak fixes missing from 4.1. As such these
would not justify a new release but if we make 4 new ones maybe i make a
new 4.1 release too for completeness

If you know of any other missing fixes, especially anything security related
please backport them

Thanks

Rewriting code that is poorly written but fully understood is good.
Rewriting code that one doesnt understand is a sign that one is less smart
then the original author, trying to rewrite it will not make it better.

Just backport it. As long as it's not something that changes the API
with a version bump (Since that's already frozen in the release/4.2
branch), it should be fine.

I would kinda like to have the h263 hwaccel fix in for 4.2.
It's a one line patch that unbreaks it for all hwaccel backends.
