[issue1693] MKV Output format - FPS rate (default-duration) not set in header
John Bell jhbel...@hotmail.com added the comment: This problem still exists with SVN 23512 Ia m attempting to convert a 15fps avc/aac.flv to .mkv with the command ffmpeg -i x.flv-f matroska -vcodec copy -acodec ac3 -ar 48000 -ab 160kb x.mkv The ffmpeg output below shows it knows the input is 15fps but the .mkv header does not have this info, nor does the addition of -r 15 to the command add it. I appreciate that a player should not depend on this value, but unfortunately some players do and my player on another hardcoded system plays this file at double speed. To fix this I am forced to pass the ffmpeg output thru matroska merge and specify 15fps, which corrects the ffmpeg output. At a minimum ffmpeg should provide an option to force the header value, and best if the input value were added to the header by default.
