Comment (by klaussfreire):

 I could never understand those commit numbers. Which repo are they
 referencing? My checkout has no such commit hash.

 There are two commits about undefined behavior. I'm guessing you're
 referring to the second one. I have actually checked with an automated
 script that same sample, albeit not with 4kbps. It's a bit low to be
 included in standard A/B tests, but I'll add it and re-run.

 Hello,

 My Windows 7 (x64) computer has two HW accelerated video devices :
 . an nVidia video card as the main display adapter (ID: 0)
 . and iGPU used as extended display (ID: 1)

 I would use FFMPEG to encode video files with Quick Sync Video.

 Here is my FFMPEG command line :
 {{{ffmpeg.exe -i input.m2ts -c:v h264_qsv output.mp4}}}

 And then I get this error message :

 {{{
 [graph 0 input from stream 0:0 @ 02c3bac0] w:3840 h:2160

 Now, if I toggle my iGPU as the main display adapter (ID: 0) and my nVidia
 video card as extended display (ID: 1), my FFMPEG command line works
 properly. And the output.mp4 video file is encoded by Intel Quick Sync
 Video hardware unit.

 FFMPEG can create a QSV HW encoding session because iGPU is set as ID: 0

 Should be interesting to add an option to be able to select the iGPU video
 device by its Windows screen ID (like the -gpu option available in the
 NVENC codecs).

 Intel provide a tool to check iGPU capabilities in its Media SDK 2016 :
 \tools\mediasdk_sys_analyzer\mediasdk_system_analyzer_32.exe

 Here is the report when iGPU is set as Windows main screen (ID: 0) :

 This command crashes FFmpeg, after the commit "AAC encoder: fix undefined

[FFmpeg-trac] #5392(undetermined:new): A bug in the scale2ref filter

#5392: A bug in the scale2ref filter

 The scale2ref filter allows one to resize an input with reference to a
 secondary input. However, this can lead to an undesired outcome when the
 frame aspect ratios of the two inputs are not the same.

 Consider the case where a square-pixel 2:1 watermark logo needs to be
 resized with reference to a square-pixel 4:3 base video. With the
 scale2ref filter, an expression of '''scale2ref=-1:ih/2''' will lead to
 the resized watermark having a ratio of 4:3. Not what most users would
 desire or expect.

 A demo command to show the behaviour:

 {{{
 ffmpeg -f lavfi -i "color=black:600x600" -f lavfi -i
 "color=white:1200x600" -filter_complex
 "[1][0]scale2ref=-1:ih/2[1v][0v];[0v][1v]overlay[v]" -map "[v]" -t 1
 scale2ref-ar-bug.mp4
 }}}

 There should be a way to flag ffmpeg to preserve the operand's aspect
 ratio with the scale2ref filter.

 You can use any webproxy url (that ships out the untouched file) followed

 The problem is that ffmpeg doesn't stay on the complete url but instead
 downloads the file and than generates the new chunks like:
 http://realhost.com/session/xxx/1438367455.ts

 Obviously this won't work. So I want to request a command line arg like '
 --webproxy' which would include the full original url like this:
 http://example.com/proxy.php?u=http://realhost.com/session/xxx/1438367455.ts

 VLC can handle this type of urls already without problems but my software
 uses ffmpeg.

 (I used the latest build ffmpeg version N-79173-gbe746ae for testing and
 also older versions)

 Thanks in advance!

Comment (by thilo.borgmann):

 Unfortunately there has been no progress for a long time.
 You can expect me to get back to the overhaul patch soon.
