[FFmpeg-user] Wanted: ffmpeg expert to help me with an encoding problem (paid job)
Good day, I'm the developer of www.videomail.io and experience issues with audio. It's a heavily used, free service to enable Deaf people to email in Sign Language. Runs on ffmpeg (under node-fluent-ffmpeg) and JavaScript (Node.js). Since I am Deaf myself, I am unable to repair some audio-related issues while muxing video with audio together on server side via ffmpeg. The reason for adding audio is to expand the target audience. That said, I'm searching for someone to help me with this. It's a paid job! Found your contact on GitHub, hence this email. Requirements: - Must know ffmpeg very well, especially on how to encode audio (WAV) and video (MP4) together without any audio delays. - Knowing JavaScript would be a massive plus for writing code - Has time in the following weeks, I guess about 10 hours or so. If you are keen, ping me, please. My page is www.binarykitchen.com – thanks! Re: [FFmpeg-user] Weird crackling sound when muxing with an existing WAV file
Thanks for your offer Carl. Would love to, but my problem is that I am Deaf. So, I won't be able to test and reproduce this on my machine. Don't hear anything. It is just feedback from www.videomail.io clients ... I could send the command with PCM files alone for someone else to test the converted audio alone. Anyone interested to assist me here? Maybe you Carl? Happy to donate for few beers :) Cheers Michael On 31/01/17 22:54, Carl Eugen Hoyos wrote: 2017-01-30 21:53 GMT+01:00 Michael Heuberger <michael.heuber...@binarykitchen.com>: ffmpeg version 3.0.5-0ubuntu0.16.10.1 Copyright (c) 2000-2016 the FFmpeg Please test current FFmpeg git head. [FFmpeg-user] Weird crackling sound when muxing with an existing WAV file
Hello guys It's me Michael again, having another ffmpeg problem. Since I am Deaf I cannot fine tune nor adjust audio stuff very well and would appreciate your help a lot. It's for the cool www.videomail.io app where Deaf people can exchange stuff in sign language. But the sound part needs improvement. It works but there is a nasty crackling sound my hearing friends say. Feel free to test it yourself on that site. Here's an example ffmpeg command how I mux a WAV file + encode the video based on images on server side at the same time. With a long output, all on this Gist: https://gist.github.com/binarykitchen/fc6c73aca72881f76376fb274d82cd70 The WAV file itself is assembled on server side from PCM files sent from the client (during recording). Plus stretched with Rubberband before it is being muxed with the video file. You see, it's pretty sophisticated and works well. Just the crackling sound is a problem. Any advice, tips or even criticism would be very very welcome Many thanks Michael -- Binary Kitchen Michael Heuberger 1/33 Parrish Road Sandringham Auckland 1025 (New Zealand) Mobile (text only) ... +64 21 261 89 81 Email mich...@binarykitchen.com Website .. http://www.binarykitchen.com ___ ffmpeg-user mailing list ffmpeg-user@ffmpeg.org http://ffmpeg.org/mailman/listinfo/ffmpeg-user To unsubscribe, visit link above, or email ffmpeg-user-requ...@ffmpeg.org with subject "unsubscribe".

Re: [FFmpeg-user] Why is length and bitrate zero?
True, SM player always reports 0 for bitrate. I ll raise this with them then. But regarding the length, that still doesn't look right. Can you check the lengths again with your random ones? - Michael On 20/12/16 12:49, Moritz Barsnick wrote: On Mon, Dec 19, 2016 at 23:21:56 +1300, Michael Heuberger wrote: $ ffmpeg -f lavfi -i testsrc=d=10 -pix_fmt yuv420p -vcodec libvpx out1.mkv resulted into a video whose length is 00:00:10 but with a bitrate of 0 kbps (says my SMPlayer) But says neither ffprobe nor mediainfo. IIRC, the overall bitrate is encoded in the MKV header, but there's no per-stream info available. Perhaps *that*'s smplayer's issue. Are you sure that smplayer reports anything *else* than 0 for any MKV file at all? I just tried a few random ones, and they all report 0. Re: [FFmpeg-user] Why is length and bitrate zero?
Hi Carl Nice one. The first command $ ffmpeg -f lavfi -i testsrc=d=10 -pix_fmt yuv420p -vcodec libvpx out1.mkv resulted into a video whose length is 00:00:10 but with a bitrate of 0 kbps (says my SMPlayer) The second command is exactly the same. [FFmpeg-user] Why is length and bitrate zero?
Hello folks I just have encoded a webm video with a duration of about 2 mins. But when I play it on a website or in a video player, it tells me length is zero. Weird. So I have inspected it in my local Ubuntu SM video player, see attached image. Indeed, length and bitrate are zero. This is the ffmpeg command I used to encode the video based on image frames: ffmpeg -f image2 -thread_queue_size 2048 -framerate 18.9 -i /home/michael-heuberger/binarykitchen/code/videomail.io/var/local/tmp/clients/videomail.io/11e6-c1e3-fc2ad020-ae4a-290f0f20d08f/frames/%d.webp -y -an -vcodec libvpx -filter:v drawtext=fontfile=/home/michael-heuberger/binarykitchen/code/videomail.io/src/assets/fonts/Varela-Regular.ttf:text=www.videomail.io:fontsize=10:fontcolor=0xFF@0.25:x=text_h:y=main_h-(text_h*2):shadowcolor=0x11@0.15:shadowx=1:shadowy=1,scale=trunc(iw/2)*2:trunc(ih/2)*2 -crf 8 -pix_fmt yuv420p -deadline good -cpu-used 1 -loglevel warning /home/michael-heuberger/binarykitchen/code/videomail.io/var/local/uploads/videomail.io/videomail/11e6/c1/e3/11e6-c1e3-fc2ad020-ae4a-290f0f20d08f/videomail_good.webm Yes, it is a bit long and has a lot in it. It's for the www.videomail.io webservice. But I hope someone of you can spot what I am doing wrong with the ffmpeg parameters. Is there a reason why bitrate and length is zero? Thanks for any clues! [FFmpeg-user] Looking for an apt-get package that comes with Rubberband
Hello folks To deploy my app easier among my machines, I am looking for a linux package where ffmpeg is compiled with the rubberband tool altogether. So that I can simply install or update it via apt-get instead of using a long git bash command which is prone to crash. The usual Ubuntu source package is quite old and does not come with Rubberband: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ffmpeg/7:2.8.6-1ubuntu2 Anyone knows of such a source I could use? [FFmpeg-user] Confusion about pix_fmt
Hello guys If you look at the bug report at https://trac.ffmpeg.org/ticket/4098 you can see that I am confused about the pix_fmt option. I am not sure what parameter to use for this option. All I want is to make the video compatible on *modern* browsers/players only and I also want to make the warning disappear ffmpeg is generating: deprecated pixel format used, make sure you did set range correctly This warning led me to believe I have to set a different pix_fmt parameter than the default one (yuv420p). But I do not know which one. Any clues?
