What I do and what you do might not bear much resemblance, because I'm on a Mac. But first you have to find a font that HAS the symbol in it. I don't have a version of Times that has it. On Mac Lucida Grande does, and so does Apple Symbol Font, and some Microsoft specialty fonts, but it is a Unicode symbol, and since Finale doesn't support Unicode, you will have to enter it in a word processor, export it as a graphic and import it that way into Finale. If anyone else knows of a better way, let us know! Christopher Why would anybody want it in Finale? It's only to claim copyright in an audio recording, and as such it only has meaning when attached to the physical recording itself. So it would only be useful in Finale if one were for some reason printing a CD label from within the program, something I would seriously doubt. Or maybe I've misunderstood the use of p-in-a-circle symbol? -- David H. Bailey [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
[Finale] O. T. German Font quest: Schreibweise Unicode
Good day! I need a German font Schreibweise-- I've looked online but I don't seem to be able to locate this specific font. Could anyone with German skills point me to the right direction? This would be simple to install, nothing complex such as changing my keyboard drivers for German characters I hope? I'm on XP SP 2. Thanks much Kim ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

Kim, I think there is a misunderstanding here. Schreibweise means spelling, and I rather doubt there is a font of that name anywhere. There are also no differences between German and other fonts, any font I know of has German characters (those are ÄÖÜäöüß). You can access them from any keyboard. As far as I remember you get them on the Mac with option-u followed by the normal character. Not sure how you'd get the ß. [Finale] Circled note heads
Is there a way to get a cirlcle around a notehead which is easier than having to draw one with the expressions tool in winfin 2006? Thanks for any help. George Ports ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale

What could be easier than that? If you create your circle as a shape expression, or as an articulation, and then get the positioning right, you can assign it to a metatool and it will place itself perfectly every time. There are circled noteheads in Engraver Extras font at F and sh-F. Replace the notehead with these new ones using the Special Tools. Alternately, you could create an articulation or an expression that is set to position automatically. A little work now and you could have a circle that you could enter in one click as a metatool. [Finale] MIDI Tool bug report; FinMac 2k7c
In the MIDI Tool, if you adjust the key velocity of a note (or more) and then use the navigation arrows to take you to another staff, you will not be able to change the new staff's key velocities until you get out of the MIDI Tool editing box and then back in again. This is new behavior from FinMac 2006. Try it by adjusting the velocity by a certain percentage and then doing it again in a new staff. I think you will see that it doesn't work. -Randolph Peters ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
