[Finale] Cross-staff tremolo

2007-04-19 Thread Brennon Bortz
I need to create a tremolo between two notes on separate staves.
I've tried creating everything on one staff and subsequently moving
one of the notes to the other staff using Note Mover. This does not
yield the desired results (unless I am doing something wrong). What
is the best way to do this? Do I need to create the tremolo
manually? If so, would someone tell me how? The only reference I
can find to tremolo in the manual is an explanation of how to use the
Easy Tremolo plugin.

[Finale] TOOL BAR

2007-04-19 Thread Kim Richmond

MacFin2007c
How can I get my Tool Bar to retain the order of tools that I wish? I
know how to change the placement of each tool (Command-Shift), and as
long as I have Finale open it stays. I have tried Special Save/Save
Preferences and everything else I can think of, but the next time I
open the program, the Tool Bar is back to it's original order.
I have had to contend with this in every recent version, but this
version doesn't seem to yield a solution. Any ideas?

All the best,
KIM R

Hi all,

I don't suppose anyone knows of a good online resource with reliable
info about writing for Koto (using Western notation)?

I have a few written in Japanese :-)
One of the good ones is here:
http://www.promusica.or.jp/07instruments/04koto.html
The English link isn't the same, unfortunately.

Come back to Boston. I will show you Koto technique :-)

Joke aside, tuning is more an issue. Grab a cute Japanese girl on
Broadway, seduce to come with you (yes, your looks good enough), and
have her read this for you:

Re: [Finale] OPTIMIZING

Can somebody help me on this one?
How can I optimize a keyboard part that has a Group default to
optimize only when all staves are empty? Please read on before
answering.

OK, as long as you read the answer before complaining that it doesn't
work...

In score page view, no problem. In the Staff Tool I just change
the Group Attributes on involving those staves to optimize
normally. But I viewing a part, it doesn't work. Yes I do the same
thing with the Group Attributes but I go to optimize the stave on
the part, no good results. I go back to the Staff Tool, look at
Group Attributes again, and it has changed back to optimize only
when all staves are empty.

You have to REMOVE optimisation in the score and the linked part,
THEN set the group to optimise normally, THEN optimise it where you
want it optimised. If you have already optimised ANYWHERE (score or
part) then you won't be able to change the group attributes until you
remove optimisation. It will appear as if you can, but it will switch
back as you noticed.
