RE: [Finale] Pizzicato volume problem
Thank you for your suggestion. I could not find anything unusual with the expressions, but am able to manually adjust the velocity for each instance. As all pizzicati are in Layer 2, would it be possible to globally set the volume/velocity for that one layer only? TIA. Yes, what he said, and also look for any expressions you might have used or edited that might have playback attached. This used to bite me all the time until I got wise. Something is in the score which is making finale interpret the desired tempo as 8th=80, so it's either human playback interpreting the tempo expression or the program itself interpreting an expression. -- David H. Nonstandard key sig... Nonlinear key sig ToneCnt: 1 KeyMap: change the squares to WWBBWWBWWBWB (The first white being D, the second Eb, the third white F#, etc.) AOrdAmt: Unit 1 (F#) leave alone. Unit 2 (Bb): step level -1 (DOWN from D(=1) to B), amount -1. Unit 3 (Eb): step level 2, amount -1. Units 4-7, amount 0. Re: [Finale] creating a Nonstandard Linear Key Signature
The Nonstandard Key Signature dialog box is broken, as of (I believe) Finale 2006. I've encountered the problem you describe when importing older files with nonstandard key sigs -- which *did* display correctly in older versions of Finale. I have not found a solution. [Finale] creating a Nonstandard Linear Key Signature
I am trying my hand at entering into Finale a Klezmer tune in the key of D Freygish. I figured out how to set up a nonstandard linear key signature, with 3 accidentals: 1 sharp and 2 flats (F#, Bb and Eb) - The D Freygish scale is D, Eb, F#, G, A, Bb, C, D. I can get it all set up properly in the Nonstandard Key Signature dialog box, with Tone Center 5, 3 accidentals, Linear Key Format 2, and the accidentals appear in the proper order and location, but then when I click OK to complete the setup, the flat for Bb jumps UP an octave, above the staff. Unit 2 (the Bb) is set in octave 0, which should place it correctly within the staff. What am I doing wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated! If necessary, I can send a file on request, to demonstrate the problem. *Not only that, but I am now unable to remember how I created the original file with 1 sharp and 2 flats; I have tried over and over, and cannot figure out how to get both sharps and flats into the key sig!
