[Finale] FinWin 2k11, TgTools and Custom Chords Style not working? Any hint?

2012-01-12 Thread Marcello Noia
TgTools Custom Chords Styles plugin (DO,RE,MI,etc) does not work in
Finale 2011 (Windows).
Is there any workaround?

[Finale] Changing Maestro Default file in Fin12

2012-01-12 Thread Robert Patterson
I am trying to replace the Maestro Default File in Finale 2012, but it
appears to have an extension other than .mus (in MacOS). The problem is
that the Hide Extension flag is set in get info and the os won't let me
change it. What's is the extension for Maestro Default File now? Or should
I just omit the extension?

[Finale] Using Document Styles in Finale 2012

2012-01-12 Thread Robert Patterson
Based on a post from Darcy in October, I am attempting to convert my work
habits to using doc styles, but I am finding minor and major irritants.

Minor irritant: When I use the setup wizard it does not take the Distance
between Staves from the setting in my template. Instead it uses zero. Any
way to fix this?

Major show-stopping irritant: The setup wizard creates abbreviated names
using the full name font size. This is basically a deal breaker for me. Is
there any way to fix it?

Hi Robert,

The first is surprising, but I have seen others mention it on the Finale Forum.
If you Redefine pages (or Generate parts, in the case of linked parts) it
apparently corrects itself. I don't know why it happens, but please report it
to tech support so they can fix it.

The second, I have noticed the full name font being used in other instances,
too (such as instrument changes). This is a bug, but you can manually edit the
font for abbreviated names from inside the Score Manager. Probably the Global
Staff Attributes plugin can change them all at once, too. Again, please let
MakeMusic know so they can correct it.

Christopher

Re: [Finale] Changing Maestro Default file in Fin12

2012-01-12 Thread Florence + Michael
When I look at the info for my Maestro Default File, the Hide Extension flag
is greyed-out, but not set: I think this means that the file simply doesn't
have an extension. I'd try omitting the extension.

I haven't installed 2012 yet so forgive me if I am off base here. Assuming it
is the same as 2011, default files do not contain file extension. They are
controlled by type/creator which is FIN3. I think it is a left over from
Finale v3 from 90's. Haha.

By the way, regarding hide extension pref, I believe you need to engage it from
Finder pref globally. My default files does not have hide extension bit
engaged.
