Re: [Finale] Alto Flute playback

Hmm. SoftSynth did not work very well for me, at least integrated with
Garritan. However, this page described an acceptable solution for my
purposes:

Hi Robert,

Good find! I did not know this was possible! (All this time I've been working
around with pitch-bend expressions... )

Cheers,

[Finale] tied notes not playing with certain chord symbol present

2013-02-17 Thread toro 455
Placing a chord symbol on a staff with regular notated notes causes certain
tied notes to not play. I'm only experiencing this with one particular
chord symbol. However, depending on which upper extensions are in the
suffix, different tied notes will be cancelled - sometimes all.

Do I need to be using a dedicated staff for chord symbols to avoid this? I
always do a written out piano part and chord symbols above. I always mute
chords for the staff in the instrument list so I don't need to mess with
Finale's built-in voicings and just hear my written out voicings.

Re: [Finale] tied notes not playing with certain chord symbol present

2013-02-17 Thread toro 455
My solution for now I created a new instrument in the instrument list
(and named it FinaleChords) on a separate MIDI channel from the staff
with the chord symbols. Then assigned Chords in that staff to that
instrument/MIDI channel and set the volume to 0. I don't even need to mute
chords, it just plays correctly now. I suspected this was a MIDI issue, and
seems I'm right.
