I have this gear and I remember this issue but it has been a while since I've
used it. I think you can use QuicKeys to send a cmd-Pg Up/Dn when pressing just
the Pg Up/Dn keys on the BT Numpad.

you are right about not being able to combine, however the
"emulation" actually works on the laptop :-) but not using the same
keys (only) on the BT keyboard

Hi Jef,

The BT numpad has a command key? It doesn't look like it, at least not from the
photo you sent. Or am I confused about what you're trying to do?

The command that you're trying to emulate (with fn-command-arrowdown) is
actually command-PageDown. But it doesn't look like you can combine keystrokes
across the BT keyboard and BT numpad, making command-PageDown impossible.

i am able to "turn the page" using
fn-cmd-arrowdown on the laptop but not on the BT
keyboard, despite the fact that all of these keys
are also available there. i.e. i don't need the
numpad for that.

neither the keyboard nor numpad have a home/end
button, which is a drag in finale.

have been using this thing for about 10 years and
am thinking that maybe i should just get it
cleaned and serviced, it still works but i
thought it might have been causing a small
malfunction from time to time, with stuck keys or
something loose in the USB cable, but perhaps
just because of grime...:

Just curious Craig, regarding the LMP numpad you bought. I had one about a
year ago and it never, ever really stayed connected via Bluetooth. Moreover,
it was a major PITA to pair it. I would be most curious if you'd apprise us at
some point on your experience with it. I got so frustrated at one point I beat
the sh*t out of it with a hammer. I felt better then.

Hi Jef,

>From the review you linked to:

" Also, because OS X views this duo as two separate keyboards, commands that
require simultaneous presses on the keyboard and keypad (like Command-+) can’t
be entered. "

That would also seem to apply to command-down arrow, etc.

[Finale] [OT] wireless keyboard / numpad w. finale

2012-08-09 Thread SN jef chippewa

i recently bought an apple bluetooth keyboard (french canadian),
apple trackpad and LMP bluetooth numpad. i am trying to figure out a
few key commands i had with my extended macally keyboard but can't
get to work on the new equipment.

is anyone else using these and knows the key combos?

function-cmd-arrowdown/up for page turn works on the laptop but not
on the keyboard, for some reason. the page up/down buttons apply to
the visible (on-screen) portion of the current page.

also i hadn't remembered about the home/end buttons i use ALL THE
TIME that i no longer have. before i consider taking them back and
finding another solution, are there tricks i just don't know about?

http://www.maclife.com/article/reviews/bluetooth_keypad_wkp1314_review

i do like having a separate trackpad / keyboard and numpad, makes for
a modular workspace :-) but i need these keys!
