Re: [Finale] Global spacing question

it does in fact work, but only after applying music spacing on an
individual (or global) basis, while the "spacing before music" is a
global setting that is unaffected by music spacing.

both work for what you asked about, depends on your needs.

Maybe you can do that in Preferences->Document Options->Notes&Rest->Space
before music ?

Hi Ryan

Good news and bad news. What you suggested wasn't it. Changing that setting
did nothing to my score. But the ensuing lookup in the manual did locate the
right setting: Document Options > Notes and Rests > Spacing Before Music -
that did it.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

[Finale] Global spacing question

2012-02-28 Thread J D Thomas
Hey all,

Finale Mac 2011—

I used to know how to do this, but…

Where is the global setting to adjust the default amount of space between
accidentals and the initial barline? IOW, the first notes in any measure that
have accidentals; the space between the barline and the first accidental.
Right now Fin2K11 puts too much space for my tastes and it adds up measure to
measure as I do layout. I do seem to remember there was a global setting
somewhere to adjust this. But I can't seem to find.

Or, was I just dreaming?

TIA.
