Re: [Finale] REPEAT SIGN INSIDE A BAR
The best way (as someone else has already suggested) to put what appears to be a mid-measure repeat is to break the existing measure into 2 measures with the appropriate time signature for each section, choosing the option to have a different signature for display set to the overall time signature for the movement. The advantage of this is that it will play back correctly, whereas placing it as an expression doesn't play back and can get messed up if the music is respaced. Yes the measure number regions may need to be adjusted so that this additional measure doesn't get counted, but it's not a big deal. David H. Re: [Finale] REPEAT SIGN INSIDE A BAR
Create two bars of the appropriate length, hide the time signatures and put the repeat between the two bars. If you are relying on bar numbers, you will also have to modify the measure regions so you do not end up with one bar too many. So, if it is a 4/4 bar, I’d make it two 2/4 bars (or a 3/4 and a 1/4), and hide the time signatures and put the repeat in where you need it. > On Mar 29, 2017, at 6:40 AM, dr.a.s. weinstangelwrote: > > Dear all; > > > Never encountered this little problem before: > > > How would you go about placing a repeat sign in the middle of a measure? > > > TIA for your help. > > > Dr.A.S.Weinstangel > > sasha.weinstan...@utoronto.ca > cel.647-292-4605 > ___ > Finale mailing list > Finale@shsu.edu > https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale > > To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: > finale-unsubscr...@shsu.edu ___ Finale mailing list Finale@shsu.edu https://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale To unsubscribe from finale send a message to: finale-unsubscr...@shsu.edu
Re: [Finale] REPEAT SIGN INSIDE A BAR
I've used the app that allows an "internal" repeat sign many times. It is quite flexible. Don't bother with trying to move a regular repeat sign. You might get it to work, but why bother when the answer is so easy. Chordially, John On 3/29/2017 2:43:28 PM, dr.a.s. weinstangelwrote: Thank you! I've also figured out that possibility. Of course, from at least Finale 2012 there's a plugin under Plugins - Measures - mid measure repeats which achieves this. I’ve done this occasionally, and the only way I’ve been able to achieve it is my creating a measure expression and placing it in the file.
