Thanks Christopher. You guessed correctly at my meaning although all my
question's words didn't come out in the e-mail. Thanks for your solutions.
All the best,

I don't think that's what he means. He wants two different PARTS to have
different measure number settings.
I think the easiest way to achieve this is to extract the one part with
different number settings (the vocal part) and change them once extracted.
You won't have the part linked any more, but that isn't as much of a pain in
the neck as I expected it to be on the occasions I've done it.
An alternative is to set up two different regions, then number one of them
to start at measure 999 while you print the other parts, then switch it to
start at measure 1 and the OTHER region at measure 999 while you print the
vocal part. You will have to remember to make that change every time you
print parts, though. That's why I think the extracted part is a better
solution.
I think I remember jef chippewa coming up with this scheme before we had
separate layout for score and parts.
Kim, I think another solution to your problem (which is probably that
measure numbers collide with the lyrics, right?) is just to have the normal
linked part, then in page view in the vocal part, select the measure tool,
hit command-A to select all (which will select the measure numbers) then
drag them to above the staff all at once. You might have to do this once for
each page, but it is very easy to do and prevents measure number collisions.
Just make sure they are close enough to the staff that the singer associates
them with the proper measure, NOT the measure above!

I think that works through the measure number dialogue box: one set of
numbers and positions for the score and another for the linked parts.
There are several different settings for each in the lower two thirds of
the dialogue box that should accomplish that.
Is that what you need?

Subject: [Finale] BAR NUMBERS differing in parts
Question:
In MacFin2011 can we have = the bar numbers formatted differently in
different parts?
= nbsp; For instance, in the vocal part I want the bar number to
appear only at the beginning of each system on top of the staff. In the
instrumen tal parts I want the bars numbers to appear in each bar below
the staff.
All the best,
