Wow, that is great, Andrew! Did they say anything about how they
heard about your music?

It wasn't entirely clear to me. What I think happened was that they
asked around among music types, one of whom must have come across me by
googling around.

I think it's wonderful that you'd get such large exposure! Here's
hoping you get some additional performances from people who listen to
the program and try to find out who wrote the music for the filler and
intro.

Actually, they're going to air a full-scale interview with me, and play
the whole piece, I think in the first program of the five. At my
request, too, when they're done with the CD they're going to send it
over to whichever branch of the BBC (BBC 3?) broadcasts classical
music--with luck, they'll take an interest too.

[Finale] shameless self-promotion

2005-10-10 Thread Andrew Stiller
Thought the list might like to know that a piece of mine, and an interview with me, will be aired on BBC-4 radio next month. The Beeb is doing a 5-part series for the bicentennial of the periodic table, and they plan to play my A Periodic Table of the Elements as part of it all, and to interview me about the piece. In addition, apparently, they plan to use bits of my music for filler or intro on all five programs.

The programs will be aired on Nov. 7-11 at 3:45 PM GMT (wh. I think is 10:45 AM EST--but don't take my word for it), and can be heard online at www.bbc.co.uk/radio4 .

Hey all,

I now have a (makeshift) site up advertising my music prep services,
including samples of the copying work I've done for Bob Brookmeyer,
Maria Schneider, and others. As always, your feedback is most welcome.

Thanks, Keith. The drop-shadow rehearsal letters/numbers are done with
Bill Duncan's Rehearsal font, available here:
