Re: [Finale] Staff spacing in FinMac 2003a

I remember a wiedrness in version 2003. In scroll view
move the staves to the very top of the window and
voila the page view is closer.

Try it.

The TGTools menu is occasionally flaky. You may be
 able to access the

 the Repeat Last

 select the Staff
 List Manager.

Selecting the SLM should open a window that shows
 your staves. You can
set the relative offsets in one system, then copy
 that optimization to
the other systems where you want it.

The Staff List Manager does not come with Fin 2003a. But you can still
download v2.29c from tgtools.com, and that version is compatible with
FinMac 03.

Martin -

Since the movement is already optimized you can do this but only on a
system-by-system basis.

In the staff tool, drag enclose the BOTTOM staff handles (drag from
bottom of page to top). Then you can use the re-space staves command
from the staff tool menu.

I have a multi-movement work that I am editing, with staff distance
set at -320 (evpus). With all of the voices, both instrumental and
vocal, there are 10 staves per system. The 4th movement only has 7
staves per system (I optimized out the other 3 staves that do not
contain any notes in this movement).

With optimizing, I wanted to have two systems per page now for this
movement with only 7 staves per system. However, no matter how I
change the top and bottom margins in page layout, I can't get two
systems to fit on one page.

How can I reduce the distance between staves in this one movement
(maybe -310 or -300 evpus) so I can fit two systems on one page? I
know this used to be possible in a much earlier version of Finale
(although I don't recall how I was able to do it back then).

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

It's part of the full version of TGTools, which you'd have to purcha$e.
