[Finale] score to midi
I've been requested from a composer to produce a midi file from the score where each instruments are assigned to a different channel to separate everything. Now I can't get the Timpani to open back to Finale once the midi file is produced and display as a pitched intrument. It was assigned to channel 26 and I chose timpani from the geneal midi list. So you really only have 30 spots for pitched percussion and other instruments. 10 and 26 would be only for unpitched drum maps. What could be wrong? Channel 26 is actually channel 10 of the second group of channels, and channel 10 in GM is a percussion channel. Try changing it to 25 or 27. -- David H.
