Giovanni: This is miles out of topic, but I thought first to ask this group. It's about Mahler: two weeks before his symphony n. 7 would be performed for the first time, Mahler closed himself in a Hotel's room and passed the time examining the orchestration. It was in 1906, in Prague, and the hotel was called Modrà Hvezda (Blue Star). I'm looking for that hotel, it's address, even if it's not a hotel anymore. Can anobody give a clue? Me: I checked in the 1904-1906 volume of de La Grange's biography, which is probably the best day-by-day source, and there's no reference. Grove's lists the premiere of the 7th as being in Prague on 19 September 1908, not 1906.
