[Fink-devel] relocating info file

2008-01-10 Thread Koen van der Drift
Hi,

I would like to move the package biopython-py from /sci to /libs/
pythonmods. Is there an easy way to do this in cvs, or should I
remove, add and re-commit it?

thanks,

- Koen.

[Fink-devel] [Fink][Sylpheed] Error at compile step

2008-01-10 Thread Pierre-Henri Lavigne

Good day,

Just trying to compile sylpheed, same error with sylpheed ssl :
http://paste.lisp.org/display/53951

I googled but didn't find a solution or a clue.
I'm on 10.4.11 PPC, latest Fink

Cheers,

2008-01-10 Thread Alexander Hansen
Well, not lost per se, since cvs keeps a history of dead files, too.
 If you've made a commit note about having relocated it then it
shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

I don't think the section change will really have much impact on users
that already have .deb files.

 That's what I thought too, thanks. I guess the history of the file will be
 lost, though, but I don't think that's a big issue. Should I worry about
 local deb files that are already in the /sci tree, or will fink recognize
 those even though they are in a different location?

 There's no such thing as move in the world of CVS...remove and add
 is indeed the way.

I just finished building sylpheed on 10.4 PPC. It built without
error. I do note two differences between the gcc command in your log,
and the same command in mine.

The command that failed for you was:

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -DG_LOG_DOMAIN=\Sylpheed\-
DXTHREADS -D_REENTRANT -DXUSE_MTSAFE_API -DXNO_MTSAFE_UNISTDAPI -I/sw/
include/glib-2.0 -I/sw/lib/glib-2.0/include -I/sw/include/pango-1.0 -I/
usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/X11R6/include/freetype2 -I/sw/include/gtk-2.0
-I/sw/include/atk-1.0 -I/sw/lib/gtk-2.0/include-I/sw/
include -I/sw/include -I/sw/include   -I../libsylph -DLOCALEDIR=
\/sw/share/locale\-DMANUALDIR=\/sw/share/sylpheed/
manual\ -DFAQDIR=\/sw/share/sylpheed/faq\   -DTARGET_ALIAS=
\powerpc-apple-darwin8.11.0\ -DSYSCONFDIR=\/sw/etc\ -I/
sw/lib/pilot-link10/include -I/sw/include  -g -O2 -no-cpp-precomp -fno-
common -I/sw/include/glib-2.0 -I/sw/lib/glib-2.0/include   -I/sw/
include   -DXTHREADS -D_REENTRANT -DXUSE_MTSAFE_API -
DXNO_MTSAFE_UNISTDAPI -I/sw/include/glib-2.0 -I/sw/lib/glib-2.0/
include -I/sw/include/pango-1.0 -I/usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/X11R6/
include/freetype2 -I/sw/include/gtk-2.0 -I/sw/include/atk-1.0 -I/sw/
lib/gtk-2.0/include -I/sw/include/gtkspell-2.0   -I/sw/include -c
folderview.c

The same command, that built for me, was:

gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -DG_LOG_DOMAIN=\Sylpheed\-I/sw/
include/glib-2.0 -I/sw/lib/glib-2.0/include -I/sw/include/pango-1.0 -I/
usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/X11R6/include/freetype2 -I/sw/include/gtk-2.0
-I/sw/include/atk-1.0 -I/sw/lib/gtk-2.0/include -I/sw/include
-I/
sw/include  -I/sw/include   -I../libsylph -DLOCALEDIR=\/sw/share/
locale\   -DMANUALDIR=\/sw/share/sylpheed/manual\ -DFAQDIR=\/
sw/share/sylpheed/faq\-DTARGET_ALIAS=\powerpc-apple-
darwin8.11.0\ -DSYSCONFDIR=\/sw/etc\ -I/sw/lib/pilot-link10/
include -I/sw/include  -g -O2 -no-cpp-precomp -fno-common -I/sw/
include/glib-2.0 -I/sw/lib/glib-2.0/include   -I/sw/include   -I/sw/
include/glib-2.0 -I/sw/lib/glib-2.0/include -I/sw/include/pango-1.0 -I/
usr/X11R6/include -I/usr/X11R6/include/freetype2 -I/sw/include/gtk-2.0
-I/sw/include/atk-1.0 -I/sw/lib/gtk-2.0/include -I/sw/include/
gtkspell-2.0  -I/sw/include -c folderview.c

Your command has the following flags, missing from mine:

-DXTHREADS -D_REENTRANT -DXUSE_MTSAFE_API -DXNO_MTSAFE_UNISTDAPI

I don't know if these additional flags are relevant, as I have not yet
found them in the gcc docs.

It might be worthwhile trying to start with a fresh Terminal session,
and to also study the environment, i.e. the result of: printenv to
see if any unusual flags are set. For me, the result of printenv |
grep FLAG was:

CFLAGS=-I/sw/include
LDFLAGS=-L/sw/lib
CXXFLAGS=-I/sw/include
CPPFLAGS=-I/sw/include
ACLOCAL_FLAGS=-I /sw/share/aclocal

If your flags are different, it might be worthwhile to find out why,
and to temporarily disable the cause.

Cf the thread Failed: phase compiling: wxgtk2.8-2.8.0-2 failed on jan
6 on fink users for another instance where those flags appeared
on some machines (10.4) and not on others (10.5) ..
Didn't look for their origin, but it would be nice to know ...
