YOu are talking about variants here, not splitoffs. Those are an
entierly different beast, and carry a big tail of their own problems
with them. Not something we want to even attempt before 0.4.0 is out.
And even after that, we need some more discussion before we can work
on it, I think.

Yep, that's right! Sorry bout that... Yeah, it's pretty big, not something
before 0.4.0, but probably should be considered in the near future.

OK so pango will now compile and not buserror in g_print (from glib)
anymore. But I still get crashes in some other code that use glib.
Can't we do anything more general to avoid this? What's going wrong
there anyway?

I just noticed g_print() does not crashes with LANG=C.

As you know, g_print() in glib-2.0.1 seems broken and it's the problem which
should be fixed, but I don't looked into it yet. I'll track down it lator.

OK, thanks. For now I'll just set LANG to C whenever I need it.

For those of you who missed fully reading and comprehending Max's
message, building the binary distribution on the OS X Compiler Farm is
too much of a security risk, which is why I made my suggestion.

Re: [Fink-devel] pilot-link-shlibs does not compile

2002-04-05 Thread Masanori Sekino

It's a relink bug of (g)libtool. Relinking will fail if there is no
pilot-link-shlibs already installed. libtool does *not* stops
with this error:

---

/bin/sh ../mkinstalldirs /sw/src/root-pilot-link-0.10.99-1/sw/lib

Simple solution of this problem is disabling relinking:

I was just wondering, has anyone thought or tried to bring something
like debian's debconf to fink? In some cases, where the configuration
needs to be customized to work correctly, it might be really useful. any

Yep. I reread the message and noticed that, after. (i was let astray
by his comment that he had built fink stuff on the servers)

Anyway, the idea that we shouldn't use the compile farm machines due
to the fact that they could be compromised is IMO silly... But,
whatever... :)
