Works for me (though I'm on 10.4). Is your mv command that which
ships with 10.5? I.e. what does which mv give?

By the way, doing Fink in /usr/local is dangerous because arbitrary
third-party applications can overwrite your Fink packages (and that
_is_ in the FAQ).

version 1.2? Current version of ktoblzcheck in fink is 1.16 (14 revs
newer). Did you do a 'fink selfupdate-rsync' after installing fink in
Leopard? I guess you'll also need to have the unstable branch active,
too, though.

As far as we know it's fine. There just hasn't been a new Fink
release since the 10.5.1 (and 10.4.11, for that matter) updates that
has the appropriate versions listed.

[Fink-users] OT: Leopard audio issues

2007-11-25 Thread PM
I apologize for straying, but there is so much expertise in this group
that I cannot resist:

Has anyone had audio problems with Leopard? I am having problems with
audio systemwide: from Quicktime and iTunes to my hourly system time
announcements.

This is positively an Apple bug. Many others with brand new Intel CPUs
have reported this on Apple's boards, no one has posted a remedy yet.

Does anyone on this list have insight into this?

Thank you!

I think you will find a softlink X11R6 - X11 in /usr, so it should

I have got /usr/X11 set in my .profile. Should it be /usr/X11R6? I
am on Leopard and thought that /usr/X11 was the location of the libs?

I think you will find a softlink X11R6 - X11 in /usr, so it should
in general not matter.

My /usr directory (Tiger) does not have a soft link, just the X11R6
directory. Perhaps the

link is elsewhere.
I looked at the patch for mjpegtools and noticed:

SetLDFLAGS: -dylib_file /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/
Versions/A/Libraries/libGL.dylib:/System/Library/Frameworks/
OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Libraries/libGL.dylib

Can someone tell me why this flag uses two identical paths for
libGL.dylib (they look the same to me)?

Yup--that's where the new X11 stuff lives (for all Xorg 7.x flavors,
 not just Apple's).

Really ? Not a symlink to a particular version, as it was
traditionally ?

The bug report you were quoting at the beginning of this thread came
from a computer running on Leopard. Was this not yours?
The error message you showed about cycle in dylib re-exports is a
Leopard feature. Also the build log showed /usr/X11 being used, which it
would not do if it didn't exist. Are you talking about two different
computers?

On Leopard, you have X11 installed in /usr/X11, with a symlink
/usr/X11R6-/usr/X11 for backward compatibility, plus /usr/X11R6\ 1 if
you did an upgrade-install.

 directory. Perhaps the
 link is elsewhere.

See
http://wiki.finkproject.org/index.php/Fink:Packaging:Preparing_for_10.5#OpenGL_Bug

This is the known workaround for a feature of Leopard's linker which
thinks it is clever to load the wrong library when it has vaguely the
same name as the right one. The flag basically tells /usr/bin/ld: If you
are asked to load this library /System/.../libGL.dylib, then really load
it, and not another library with the same name libGL.dylib that you
might find elsewhere (namely in /usr/X11/lib/).
