[Fink-users] pixman failed to build

2013-01-17 Thread Kay Wiese
Dear developers,

please find below the error-messages I receive in building pixman.
They appeared after a fink update-all. Below, I tried to rebuild pixman
separately.

Thanks for your help, best regards
Kay Wiese

Your command line tools are from an older version of Xcode. When you
update Xcode.app, the command line tools are not updated automatically,
you have to do this manually every time, either from inside Xcode.app
(Preferences-Downloads) or by direct download from Apple.

(No clue why Apple thought that people would want a new Xcode with old
command-line tools.)

There were other reports on this list that pixman didn't get along with
Xcode 4.2's build tools, and now we know that the 4.3 tools don't work,
either. Maybe it'd be worth a versioned build dependency at this point.

Is there a --disable-asm or somesuch that would enable biulding with
the old one?

There's --disable-gcc-inline-asm (disable GNU-style inline assembler).

I don't have 10.7 with Xcode 4.5.x conveniently available to test
that, though.
