For a short period of time yesterday, there was a broken version of
cairo in fink. Try a 'fink selfupdate' and 'fink install cairo' and
that should get you up to cairo 1.8.10-3, which will work.

The install said 0 packages to install (and the problem was not fixed). Do
I need to
remove (or purge) the broken package?

Hm, does 'fink info cairo' say that 1.8.10-3 is the latest? If not,
perhaps you're using a mirror that's not as up-to-date.

Re: [Fink-users] pango1-xft2-1.24.5-1 error

2010-05-12 Thread jkolata
Cairo 1.8.10-2 is listed as the latest stable package, but I just found
1.8.10-3 in
unstable. I was able to build pango...but it's pango-xft2-1.24.5-7 (unstable),
not 1.24.5-1 (listed as stable).

I generally build stable packages unless there is some package
in unstable only that I need. Is that a bad idea? If so, then there
are a lot more packages I need to build to get current.

Here is the rsync command that I use:

rsync -az -q rsync://distfiles.master.finkmirrors.net/finkinfo//TIMESTAMP
/sw/fink/TIMESTAMP.tmp

Ah, I had missed that drm moved 1.8.10-2 to stable. Stable should be
fixed now.
