 Hi,

There was a version of Red5 that just installed and then you could
run the server, visit localhost:RED5_PORT in your browser and see all
the examples. The OSFlash Red5 download page seemed to be the better
 place to install from.

It is about a year since I tried installing it, so it may have got
 better :)

FWIW, we use something called mjpg-streamer on Linux for our
webcam running at 12fps and use Flash to load images rather than a
stream - this means we can share the webcam with other apps. If you
are doing a kiosk type app, where you do not connect from the outside
world, this could be a way to go forward... not sure about connecting to
 the microphone though.

I will have a dig around later and see if I can find the links - try
searching the flashcoders archive for red5 stuff - there is also a
red5 list which may or may not be active - have not seen for a while.

 HTH

  Thanks Glen,
Those links look great, especially the mariofalomir one, there is a lack of
  tutorials or examples for red5.

  Thanks Deepanjan,
I saw this earlier today but it does not handle microphone data, the flvs
are silent. Otherwise it looks very good.

  Hi,
You may find it in this blog - http://www.joristimmerman.be/

  Hi,

If you can record streams to red5, you might be able to use ffmpeg
or another command line tool to multiplex your audio and video to one flv?

You can't add custom apps/fbml to tabs in a facebook group, only to fan
pages.

You can iframe it in an app. I did that here:

However I'm trying to figure out how to get the app in a box in a fan page
and struggling also.

Re: [Flashcoders] FITC Excuses

2010-07-21 Thread co...@moock.org
you could tell them you'd get to be part of the world's first ever
600-player game of pong!

this might help too:
http://www.fitc.ca/participate/SF_convince_your_boss.zip

: )

if you've never been to an fitc before, i think you will be shocked at
the amount of inspiration and knowledge you get out of it, and the
number of connections you make with presenters and other attendees. it's
like a condensed year's worth of research and professional development
in a 3-day bottle.

imho,

Hey list,

I'm trying to convince the C levels why they should drop 3k on sending two
of us to FITC. Currently, they are 'on the fence.' They need convincing that
this event offers more than what we can get locally.

So, who's going? Why? How did you convince your superiors? What are you
looking forward to and why?

I'm personally excited about the Android content, the talk on the evolution
of flash on devices, resource management, mobile performance, and the Flex
intro for Flash Purists
