Re: [Flashcoders] PlayBook

2011-06-22 Thread Developer

Hi David,

I successfully built a simple app for my Droid X using CS5. I used some
guidelines at

http://cartoonsmartblog.wordpress.com/category/android-2/

Also, specifically:
http://cartoonsmartblog.wordpress.com/2010/12/15/troubleshooting-getting-your-app-from-flash-cs5-to-an-android-device/

Hope that helps.

Thanks
Don

No, I get it. The client and data transfer are insecure.

The hidden information (or the trigger to show the information) should
come from the server not from the client.

You have a point. The server can reject anything that the client sends.

But at the same time you also fail to get it. The client doesn't have
to care for what the server does. So what if the server doesn't like
the date? The client has no obligation to care about that.

On start-up the SWF could request the date of data transfer from a

When the date is reached, and data requested, the PHP script could
compare current server date and date from the database. If different,
ignore it.

Henrik's phrase You clearly haven't heard of HTTP request sniffers.

[Flashcoders] Anyone compile tamarin w/VS 2005 yet?

2006-11-08 Thread Flash Developer

Hi All,

1) I grabbed Tamarin from Mozilla's CVS tree (it's under the
MozillaSources module)

2) I'm trying to compile Tamarin (the newly released, open source AVM2
engine by Adobe).

The problem I'm having is that the shell.vcproj has these dependencies:

File
RelativePath=..\..\..\zlib\infback.cpp
/File
File
RelativePath=..\..\..\zlib\inffas86.cpp
/File

And I have no clue where to get them? They're not part of the package
on zlib.net!!?!

I've also scoured the web for these two files, and I can't find them anywhere.

JD, folks on the Adobe team, any ideas?

Alternatively, if someone wanted to publish the detailed steps
required to build AVM2 from the CVS tree that'd be great as well...
;-) (Specifically, I'm trying to build the shell project, which in
turn needs MMgc and AVMPlus projects to be built).

Thanks,
-fdev

For this, you must be use method loadSound of Sound class
The method loadSound can't do loop in streamed mp3

You can use onSoundComplete to start your music again ...

var som:Sound = new Sound();
som.loadSound(file.mp3, true);
som.start();
som.onSoundComplete = function() {
   som.start();
}

i dont know if this is correct code , but works fine here ...

Hi - I have had a few times where I need to call the redraw() function

But I obviously need to wait until the data is completed. The times I

longer (IE an image or something after a returned record set) into say
an html text field (with a scroll bar) or something into a scroller pane.

Is there something that makes this a little easier? Or is it the type

Do you have an example about this ?
Put your files in your server , so , will be easy

if you are using loadMovie to load images, forget
Use MovieClipLoader Class, and set scroll target after load image,
the class allow that you do this

ex:

var obj:Object = new Object();
obj.onLoadInit = function() {
   scroll.setScrollTarget(your_textfield);
}
var mcl:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
mcl.addListener(obj);
mcl.loadClip(image.jpg, yourMovieClipTarget);

Is there a simple way to do this? Can I use flash remoting and pass

a way to do this with Cold Fusion using the CF.http() method, so I
assume there is something similar elsewhere.

[Flashcoders] Player question

2006-06-12 Thread 8ball Developer

Hi fellows,

I'm very much confused about this matter so maybe you guys can help out.
Which player allows me to open a swf from my desktop, is it the flash
standalone player or a file type relation to the plugin? If it's the flash
stand alone player, where do I get it from?

I'm sending my client swf files but he can't open it. What do I need to have
him do (other than drag the file to your bowser window)?

Thanks for your help

People, stop the madness

The flash player question is not a newbie question. I have over 8 years of

still don't have a good answer for it.

On 6/12/06, Mike Mountain [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote:

 Plus, too many OT posts. Why would someone want to read
 discussions on non-Flash coding topics in Flashcoders? That's
 what other lists are for.

These can be debatable it's true - depends what ti is - I don't want to
see posts about the last episode of Lost on here, but I don't mind the
odd bit of humour in a thread that is flash coders related.

I just seem to find myself scanning over/deleting instantly more and
more posts, whereas 8-12 months ago I was reading the vast majority

Re: [Flashcoders] ****************** Unicode Input ***************************

All you have to do is to do a key board mapping depending on the language
the user selects. The mapping is something like this:
key code=0065 output=0410/
This is Russian key mapping.
There is much more to this and I don't want to make it sound simple but it
is doable and I've done it. I just can't share the code. Sorry.

Good luck.

Consider this. You are having One input text box. By selecting a

If u select Chinese Langugae. When you type it should be chinese
If u select Hindi Language. when you type it should be Hindi .

All these should happen in single text field.(And have to controll

Re: [Flashcoders] Vacancy: Senior Flash developer - Cambridge, UK

2005-11-16 Thread Flash Developer

Hi Paul,

It's fairly standard practice to use a disposable email address in
circumstances such as this, just so the advertiser stops getting
applications when the vacancy is filled. In this particular case there is
also some minor politics with regard to agencies.

Looking at your site you certainly have the necessary skill set, so if you
are currently looking for a role please get in touch.

While I'm here I should clarify that this is a permanent role (salary
dependent on experience, but good) and it's been very helpfully pointed out
that the address should obviously be [EMAIL PROTECTED]
(not .com as mentioned before).

It would be best not to clog up the list with any more open discussion of
this - I think there's more than enough traffic as it is.

All private enquiries very welcome.

Yeah - but who are you?

I certainly wouldn't trust an anonymous hotmail account with my CV,
and I'm surprised a 'market-leader' would decide not to provide the
company-domain based email address to respond to.

I think you'd get a better response if you provided some basic
