[Flashcoders] [flexcoders]
Hello, I was having problems when loading some external Flash 9 alpha compiled swf's into my AS3 project. I got a cannot write to read-only property on global$init error. Fixed it by using a new domain for every call in my loadExternal method. Is this the right way of doing things ? public function loadExternal(file:String):void { loader = new Loader(); domain = new ApplicationDomain(); context = new LoaderContext(false, domain); loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.INIT ,handleInit,false,0,true); loader.load( new URLRequest( file ),context ); } ___ Flashcoders@chattyfig.figleaf.com To change your subscription options or search the archive: http://chattyfig.figleaf.com/mailman/listinfo/flashcoders Brought to you by Fig Leaf Software Premier Authorized Adobe Consulting and Training http://www.figleaf.com http://training.figleaf.com

[Flashcoders] Flexcoders List?
I hate to be the bug but it seems like flash coders list has gone from flash questions to a lot of flex. Would anyone else like to see a list dedicated to flexcoders to help keep the list clean and emails down? Re: [Flashcoders] Flexcoders List?
Just use gmail or something for e-mail lists, then, who cares about the volume. I appreciate the noise, it's usually quite informative, which is why I'm on a mail list anyhow. ___ Flashcoders mailing list Flashcoders@chattyfig.figleaf.com http://chattyfig.figleaf.com/mailman/listinfo/flashcoders

Would anyone else like to see a list dedicated to flexcoders to help keep the list clean and emails down? There is already a Flexcoders list on Yahoo, for those who're interested. However, Flex and Flash are pretty closely related, so I don't really see it as off-topic. In addition, the Flex question volume is probably temporary - MM just made a bunch of Flex announcements, etc. Dave Watts, CTO, Fig Leaf Software http://www.figleaf.com/ Fig Leaf Software provides the highest caliber vendor-authorized instruction at our training centers in Washington DC, Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore, Northern Virginia, or on-site at your location.
