use flare (http://www.nowrap.de/flare.html) to decompile the swf. that'll tell you the version it was compiled to. Thanks for reminding me about Flare - I forgot I could get the info from that. Just haven't used it in a while. That SWF Edit Jesse mentioned works out pretty good too. There are a few ways.
