RE: [flexcoders] SEO Compatibility

2006-12-14 Thread Sterling Ledet
One thing to note is there is a difference between SEO compatible and SEO
friendly. While it is certainly possible to use google to search for
specific file types, whether they be PDF, SWF, DOC files or others (see
advanced search for the drop down), these pages will not be returned by
default if someone just types some keywords in a search box. Depending on
the business needs of the organization involved, you may need to address
this issue separately if organic search positioning is a critical factor in
your Flex implementation.

[flexcoders] Configuring Flex 2 Data Services sample apps with full Jrun

2006-08-31 Thread Sterling Ledet
Title: Enterprise RIA Development with Macromedia Flex

I am
trying to get the Flex 2 Data Services Express sample applications working
correctly on a full install on top of Jrun. The first one works OK, but the
others all seem to require a specific JNDI port and possibly some other
configuration changes. I'm pretty new to this, so I could use any help I could
get. Has anyone done this before?

[flexcoders] Deploying Flex 2 Data Services Express on a ColdFusion server

2006-08-29 Thread Sterling Ledet
Could somebody please direct me to step by step instructions for
deploying "Flex 2 Data Services" on the existing Jrun installed with
a ColdFusion MX 7 integrated installation? I don't want to run a
separate instance of Jrun if I don't have to.

Adobe's 2.0 docs are assuming a little more familiarity with JRun
than I currently have.

I can uncompress jar files OK, but where do I drop them in the
\cfusionMX7 directory?

Do I still need to configure XML files as well, or is that just for
1.5? It seems the doc file at:

http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/flex/1_5/flexforcf.html

almost contains what I want but it is for 1.5. Are there any similar
instructions available anywhere for 2.0, or can anyone help make
sure I do this right?

Thanks,

Sterling Ledet
