Re: [Flexradio] Controlling PowerSDR when console window doesn't havefocus
Hey-ho a nice idea. I was thinking of something similar for my own software and decided to have a small window - maybe system tray icon - where keyboard / mouse input is routed through to the main program. The code from www.codejock.com has some nice ideas in the system tray area. The glory of programming is that you could write something similar to Windows Media Player's mini toolbar (optionally shown when minimised). I haven't found out how to do this myself but were you to do this you would have a fine solution! Re: [Flexradio] A simple fan noise abatement modification
True, but the fan in the SDR1k needs an 80mm X 15mm format (very thin) and I could not find one in that format that had the temp sensors that were not 10-20 dBA louder than the fan currently installed. -Tim --- Tim Ellison ( [EMAIL PROTECTED] ) Integrated Technical Services ( http://www.itsco.com ) -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Tom Clark, W3IWI Sent: Wednesday, November 16, 2005 12:18 AM To: Paul Wade W1GHZ Cc: FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz Subject: Re: [Flexradio] A simple fan noise abatement modification Paul Wade W1GHZ wrote: another way to reduce fan noise is to reduce the speed of the fan. one of my recent projects is a fan controller with speed proportional to temperature, with the temp sensor wherever you like. A number of 12VDC computer fans (I'm looking at one right now branded ThermalTake) come with speed control capabilities built in -- either from a pot or a thermistor that they supply with the fans. I use the pot variety on my PC and tune the speed for minimum noise. 73, Tom ___ FlexRadio mailing list FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature
Re: [Flexradio] PowerSDR Ver 1.4.5.P5 - Strange TX pulsing
Hello to the list. I hope someone can shed some light on a problem that I am experiencing. The setup here is a Pentium 4 3GHz - 512 BM - Delta 44 , VAC and VCOM. I am using MixW for my digital modes. I am finding that while I am able to control the MixW software and decode digital transmissions, I seem to experience a pulsing action (approx 1 sec intervals) on the transmitted signal. On PSK or RTTY you can also clearly notice the pulsing action on the panadapter display of the PowerSDR console. I thought that this problem could be related to the VAC settings. I adjusted the buffer size in the SDR VAC setup from 512 - 2048. With the lower setting the pulsing (still occurs but not as frequent) however it is much more pronounced (almost seems stronger as well) when I have the buffer set to the 2048 setting. I thought that perhaps I had a SWR problem with the antenna so I tested the SDR with a dummy load and experienced the same problem. I have monitored my signals on another receiver and am able to hear the pulsing action. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance. Regards, Serge VA3SB
Re: [Flexradio] v1.4.5 p6 DIGLDIGU filter Width slider
I agree with this. The sliders are almost unusable in DigU/DigL. [Flexradio] HRD
I have been unable to make HRD connect with Pwr Sdr 1.4.5prev 5 or 6. Worked fine with the previous versions. Suggestions would be apreciated. Thanks, Art Yahoo! FareChase - Search multiple travel sites in one click.

[Flexradio] 1.4.5 Preview 6 DIGU transmits LSB or USB
[ I'm resending this - looks like the first one got lost ] I noticed that although DIGU sets the filter up in the upper sideband, when transmitting it can transmit on the lower sideband (or at least the panadaptor display appears to show this). If you select LSB and then select DIGU and then hit MOX you will see what I mean. Selecting USB and then DIGU appears to correct this behavior (or is this a feature ;-) DIGL has the same behavior of transmitting on the memory of the last selected sideband. 73 and thanks for all the great work! [Flexradio] v1.4.5 p6 RTTY Click-Tuning wrong offset
Hi, RTTY Click-Tuning offset should be 2210Hz, not 2040Hz if Mark freq. is 2125Hz and shit 170Hz as HAM default. rgds, riho.

Re: [Flexradio] PowerSDR Ver 1.4.5.P5 - Strange TX pulsing
Hello Jeff. Thank you for your response. Given your comments, I tried to press the MOX button prior to activating the RTTY/PSK transmission with the same results. The only way I can minimize the pulsing somewhat is by changing the VAC buffer setting to 512. Serge VA3SBJeff Anderson [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Serge, This may not be related at all to your problem, but I've experienced pulsing in SSB mode - turned out it was related to an improperly wired mic. One clue was that there was no pulsing if I pressed the MOX button on the display, but pulsing occured if I used the mic's PTT button. Does this problem *always* happen? If you key with MOX, does it go away? [Flexradio] EME
Now that the SDR1000 is working well, I would like to extend my interest to EME, can someone please give me some advice as to the add-ons I will need. Thanks Ross ZL1WN
[Flexradio] [OT] Re: EME
Ross, 1296, 23 cm, is probably the simplest band to get on and there is a bunch of activity worldwide. Plug EME into your favorite search engine and spend a few weeks there. See http://www.kuhne-electronic.de/english/frameset.htm for a 28 MHz - 1296 MHz transverter, 200 w or bigger amp, and receive preamp and bring money. Then a minimum 2-3 m tvro dish (free most places) steerable in at least one axis, preferably two, a nice septum feed from OK1DFC, a bunch of expensive coax, relays, and connectors. You already have a great I.F. strip :) Then, if you are as old and out of shape as me, a 20-30 year old helper with endless enthusiasm. I have most of these things accumulated but I'm still not yet up and running again. See http://www.rcallen.com for pictures of my first efforts 30 years ago.
