Re: [Flexradio] Mute / Squelch / Eq
Willi, Thank you for the information. More than 30 years I have used home made clippers in the IF part of my all SSB transceivers with a proper audio equalizer in the microphone channel. I hope that SDR-1000 would give me a better digital version of that feature. I heard here that K5SDR, Gerald, is coming to the Friedrichshafen trade show this year and hopefully he has time and opportunity to listen to what is going on here on HF bands in the old countries. Re: [Flexradio] RFE BOARD QUESTION
Thanks for the response Eric. I would think that it should be (XVTR Enabled VHF Selected) since K12 needs to be operated in BOTH receive and transmit in order to provide a signal path between LPFR of the lowpass filter bank and the input/output of the 2M transverter when one of the bands above 6M is selected for operation as opposed to selecting operation on LF to 6M. XVRX on the other hand, would need to follow the logic rule you gave to allow switching out the DEMI Rx circuit on transmit. Also, I sent you a list of Fatal Error messages I am getting on all start-ups of Preview 12 after the first but the e-mail was refused by the flex server. XVTR Enabled/Present is checked. 2. Positive logic is selected and you are in TX. 3. Negative logic is selected and you are in RX. Eric Wachsmann FlexRadio Systems
[Flexradio] Multi System
I wonder if it is possible to run a second, or more SDR 1000's from a single computer? Is it possible to have two or more radios plugged into the USB ports and run Power SDR for each? Choosing which transceiver is active. I'm looking at purchasing a second radio and can't afford a second, dedicated, computer at this time. The questions come easy but I'm fairly sure the answers are complicated. It might be an interesting project. Thanks. Mike Monnier W8BAC

Dear FlexRadio friends, We are pleased to announce that FlexRadio's Eric Wachsmannis the proud papa of a 7 lb 10 oz girl named Haley, who was born this morning at 8:33 AM. Their second harmonic is 17 months old so they will have a vibrant household. Both mom and daughter are doing well. Oh, and the grandparents are also very proud. Eric will be out this week so please be patient on any emails you may have sent to him. He will check email sporadically and will get back when he can. 73, Gerald K5SDR FlexRadio Systems
Re: [Flexradio] Setup Instructions for VAC
Read n4hy tutorial on the flex-radio website. It worked for me. Have any of you put together a set of instructions in plain English that tell how to set up a typical configuration? I have the Pro-II connected to the PC through a Rig-Blaster using the on-board sound card. Do I need some sort of virtual serial connection too? [Flexradio] 1 KHz tone on SSB
Hi, I have a 1 KHz tone on my signal when transmitting SSB. The 1KHz signal is about 20 dB over the noise level at that frequency. It does not occur when using VAC, and it does not occur when I key using MOX with no mike is plugged in. I am using a Firebox. When I plug a mike into the SDR box with a cable from the SDR box to the mike in on the Firebox, I get the tone when I press the PTT. When I unplug the cable from the SDR box to the mike in on the Firebox, and plug in a different mike into the Firebox, I get the tone again, but it is only 10 dB over the noise level at that frequency.Set the RF power to 1 watt; no change. The tone is very stable, not like RF feed back. There is no test in progress. Restart everything, no change. Nothing seems unusual in the Firebox setup. Any one have any suggestions? 73, Chas, W1CG
[Flexradio] DATABASE OVERWRITE
If I have installed version 12 then make some changes to it and recompile, when I deploy it from the compiler will it install on top of the originally installed version 12? If it does than is it smart enough to see that there is already a database in there and not overwrite it? Bill Nagle [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: [Flexradio] DATABASE OVERWRITE
Bill, If there is a database in the directory that you run from, it will use it else create a new one. If you run from the ide, that will be either ..\bin\debug or ..\bin\release depending on what you told it to do. If I have a bunch of stuff in a database that I want to keep safe, I'll just compy it elsewhere before I start a development cycle, just in case. I do that all the time keeping the old database. It sounds like you may be doing a clean as a part of the compile. Some of the clean functions will completely delete the \bin folder that contains the . mdb. This may be part of the deploy. I keep the deployment lines disabled since all I want to do is re-compile whatever I changed and then relink. It is all much faster that way as long as you are not interested in distributing it. Re: [Flexradio] 1 KHz tone on SSB
Chas, Are you using and software based audio processing? I was running my signal through CuBase and as soon as I added an effect, I got a 2 KHz spike in my audio with what best can be described as a pulsing rushing noise. Removing CuBase made the pulsing rushing noise go away, but the 2 KHz spike is still there. I bought a extra shielded, ferrites on both ends Firewire cable (1 meter) and use Hosa cables for connection to the SDR1K. It made no difference. Several e-mails to Presonus has gone unanswered and I am getting rather disgruntled over the situation. An information only e-mail to support was answer in 24 hours. I have been waiting two weeks now :-( The noise is not there with the Delta 44 card, so it is coming from somewhere in the FireBox. For PSK work, I just set the frequency at 1500 Hz and it is clean as a whistle. If I ever get an answer from Presonus, I'll let you know what they say. -Tim --- Tim Ellison ( [EMAIL PROTECTED] ) Integrated Technical Services ( http://www.itsco.com ) -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Charles Greene Sent: Monday, January 23, 2006 3:34 PM To: FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz Subject: [Flexradio] 1 KHz tone on SSB Hi, I have a 1 KHz tone on my signal when transmitting SSB.
