Only one way to run atlas map is to use the old Airports format data.

Well, If you want Atlas to work with the kates data you will need to fix
it, don't you?

I've fixed several other programs which I find useful, and so can you.

I seem to remember that the CVS version of Atlas is compatible with the new
airport format. Try that!

That is true. The cvs log from last Dec 23:

Support the X-Plane airport data format by default since this is what
FlightGear now uses from v0.9.8 onwards

Best,

[Flightgear-devel] Atlas is unable to draw Airports and Runways

2005-07-24 Thread Markus Morawitz

Hello,

I was able to compile and run Atlas 0.2.2 and Flightgear 0.9.8
on my Mac OS X 10.4.2.
But Atlas is unable to draw Airports and Runways.

Atlas is able to open the Airport and Runway data file
but the format Atlas applies to the file (apt.dat.gz) is
different to the real file format found in the base package
of Fligthgear 0.9.8.

Also the description of the file format found on the web:
http://www.flightgear.org/Docs/AirNav/AptNavFAQ.FlightGear.html
is identical to what Atlas expects but is not the format
of the real files.

Please can anyone help me by teaching me some history
about the Airport and NavAids file formats.
Where is the current file format being described?

Bye

Markus Morawitz
