Vivian Yes , your conclusion is close to what was wondering about it , on how to solve it :) In any case with JSBSim i could control the steam duration length exactly like we control the launchbar during catapult operation ( when the catapult move and operate we have steam). This can be tuned: steam just before to start cat (1 sec) and steam as long as the catapult is on the deck moving with the launchbar. I guess that with YASim you have the same possibility. So i can include any steam animation into the Aircraft model itself , NOT onto the Carrier. In that case the generic steam somewhere would usefull ( like you have created smoke ) Regards -- Gérard http://pagesperso-orange.fr/GRTux/ J'ai décidé d'être heureux parce que c'est bon pour la santé. From the looks of things I'd have to install all the Developers Tools in order to gain access to CVS, which I would then have to learn, and this is more work than I was envisioning. I'm going to unsubscribe from the list now. Good luck to all with the development of this project as a whole. B. Welcome to The Manual, it is being compiled from LaTeX sources and Encapsulated PostScript images. Here's a site to browse and download the source code from: http://mapserver.flightgear.org/git/gitweb.pl?p=getstart;a=tree;f=source So, if you're familiar with editing LaTeX, we'd be happy to recieve your patches. Otherwise send us (Stuart Buchanan and myself) a list of corrections and we're going to merge these into the source. If you'd like to extend the manual, add more detail to a certain topic or even add an entire chapter, we'd be happy to recieve your contribution as well ! Also, the copy I have is dated 15th December 2007, which seems to be the latest revision - am I right? Sort of, yes. Unfortunately, most people here prefer to drop a quick note into a random place on the Wiki instead of going through the sometimes tedious labour of maintaining a proper 'book'. Therefore The Manual recieves very little advertising among 'developers'. Vivian Sorry for the previous hasty answer , it was a heading out the door to work ,but I hear you response :) My arguments for my patch is : In the turboprop , as best I understand , you have to pull throttle to 0 , lift over detent (shift into reverse ;)), and then control thrust with the ADVANCE (rpm)levers. You cant freely change the pitch from say 30 to -8. I think this would be an acceptable control method for governed props ... and I think the PROPPITCH should be reserved , and fixed so it can be negative pitches , for manual pitch , etc That was my logic concerning this , any turboprop pilot feel free to step in here and correct me :) Ive also noticed that PROPFEATHER has never worked for me . * Vivian Meazza -- Tuesday 14 October 2008: The catapult steam needs customizing for each catapult length. So you need at least different versions for each carrier, and possibly more than 1. You can now define an overlay branch that's applied to a loaded submodel before the animation properties are evaluated: model pathsome/model.ac/path offsets x-m1.234/x-m /offsets condition propertysome/model/switch/property /contidion overlay particlesystem texturedifferent_texture.png/texture /particlesystem /overlay /model That way one doesn't have to create lots of similar submodels, which differ only in one or two details. That's not only fewer disk space wasted, it can make maintenance a lot easier. But, of course, one has to be careful with overriding a particular animation's parameters, as the animation's index can change if someone edited the submodel. m. - This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100url=/ ___ Flightgear-devel mailing list Flightgear-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel

You may experiment it with the Crusader, it would be better to do it with --aircraft=Crusader_off ( key 'm' for mule, and '+' '-' to give the force , and usual rudder for direction) Hello Heiko According to our recent talk , within Crusader, i have updated the mule , which could be generic, It calculates the force/magnitude according to the AC inertia/weight-lbs, I guess that it could suit to any 'monster'. In both cases I used material animation to tone them down and make the surface illumination go away smoothly in a matter of feet above the runway. Re: [Flightgear-devel] Updating the manual
Hi On Oct 15, 2008, at 3:53 AM, fakesexnoises [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: From the looks of things I'd have to install all the Developers Tools in order to gain access to CVS, which I would then have to learn, and this is more work than I was envisioning. No. You don't have to install the Developer tools just for revising the manual or just for cvs. It's too much. Plus, you don't even need cvs to get the source files of the manual. Go visit the URL that Martin posted. There is a snapshdot link on the top of the file list. Clicking the link will start downloading the archive of all source files. If you are not familiar with TeX, you can continue annotating on the PDF file using preview.app. I'm going to unsubscribe from the list now. Good luck to all with the development of this project as a whole. Hope it is not too late.. B. However, if you fancy sending me a link to a HowTo I'll consider installing the appropriate software so I can apply patches and corrections directly to the source. I've heard of LaTex and have a rough idea of its purpose. You can google LaTeX HowTo pages by howto latex Mac OS X. MacTeX (http://www.tug.org/mactex/) is one of all-in-one prebuilt LaTeX packages. You can try it but be aware - package size is approx. 1.5GB! Anyway, correcting typos and sentences doesn't necessarily require TeX environment. Probably a text editor is all you need. By the way, this topic reminds me of the need for updating Mac portion of the manual. It's way too old! I'll update it hopefully by the time of 1.9.0 release. B. I've completed three or four chapters so far. Who should I e-mail the PDF to when I've finished/had enough? But we're still alive ;-) Cheers, Martin. --- --- --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100url=/ ___ Flightgear-devel mailing list Flightgear-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel --- -- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100url=/ ___ Flightgear-devel mailing list Flightgear-devel@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel - This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100url=/ ___ Flightgear-devel mailing list Flightgear-devel@lists.sourceforge.net
