In some aircraft and near some buildings I just feel like the trees are towering way over some of these larger objects that ordinary trees -- at least, not the ones in suburbia that I'm used to -- just aren't tall enough to eclipse like that. Perhaps if you put some numbers on it it would be easier to judge, have a look around your town and see what sort of usual height trees are. Then compare into FG by looking at how many stories high the usual tree is. I guess around here, mature garden trees (shade, ornamental) would be 1 to 2 stories (5 to 10 meters), fruit trees usually 1 story at most. Pines, gums however much higher, at a guess, a good 20 meters. Poplars similar height, but usually only found as windbreaks in parks and such. -- SOLARIS 10 is the OS for Data Centers - provides features such as DTrace, Predictive Self Healing and Award Winning ZFS. Re: [Flightgear-devel] Trees rendered too large?
Hi Rob, I was trying to get a good screenshot which demonstrates this, but I can't find the right arrangement of objects to prove my point at the moment. If you take the UFO, you can place any object at any place... ;) Cheers, Gijs _ Alles over Windows http://www.windows.nl/About.aspx-- SOLARIS 10 is the OS for Data Centers - provides features such as DTrace, Predictive Self Healing and Award Winning ZFS. Tim As for the ATI graphics hardware, the ATI R500-based GPU variants (ATI Radeon X16xx-X1950) seem reliable for FlightGear 2.0 with the ATI Catalyst Display Drivers for some people. You may want to test the corrupted texture issues with the newer Mesa 7.6.1 release as well. ~ Ken -- SOLARIS 10 is the OS for Data Centers - provides features such as DTrace, Predictive Self Healing and Award Winning ZFS.
