Pleeese :D You can mix 2d panels with 3d models. Look at the aircraft with 3d cockpits like maybe b1900d or SenecaII. Re: [Flightgear-devel] Some question about panels and a big thank you
Here's just a little reminder that you might want to try the new (*very* new, in fact) JSBSim Commander, which is in early beta stage, but is usable. That might be helpful in editing your aircraft model. JSBSim Commander has gotten a great start with a lot of hard work by Matthew Gong. See the project page at http://jsbsimcommander.sf.net. [Flightgear-devel] Some question about panels and a big thank you
As some may have noticed ;) I am working on developping a Sukhoi-26 for flightgear. Before proceeding with flight model tweaking, I am working on a 3D cockpit. So far I have settled for a mix of 3D model and 2D panel (such as the one found on the great concorde) I was wondering if there is a means to have a 3D object come in front of the 2D panel (namely bezels) ? If the answer is no I may either try to have the dial textures smaller so that they fit inside the 3D bezels or go for full 3D instruments (not that many on this aircraft) The big thank you is for the development team of FG and JSBSim. I have been messing around with this little bird and it is a joy to be able to perform flat spins, tailslides ... Actually I have not seen a sim capable of such goodies eversince the first flight unlimited ! Yeah Flanker series can do all that, but the developpers admitted it was all scripted manoeuvres. I could do all this with the stock model from Aeromatic !!!
